i love the new aluminum-looking trim and the clear taillights but that's about it. those new type-s wheels suck ass and the black hole foglights look ridiculous. and since i don't know how to drive a stick that doesn't matter to me at all.

Not much to write home about!

I like the 6 speed & LSD...you can keep everything else.
Put the 6 speed & LSD in the 2001-2002 and then you have something. Looking forward to 2005 redesign.

im so glad i wasn't looking forward to this...so bad...wheels suck...front end is the same, cept the painted verticle strips...rear lights suck...titanium trim sucks...shifter sucks...the ONLY thing i think is cool is the Type-S rim around the gearbox...after all this time and research, the '03 CL BETTER have a KICK-ASS tranny!!!

All 2003 CL models are powered by 3.2 liter, 24-valve, all aluminum, V-6 engines featuring the patented VTEC(TM) (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system. The 3.2 CL's engine produces 225 horsepower and 216 lb-ft of torque, providing quick acceleration and effortless cruising. The CL Type-S delivers 260 horsepower at 6100 rpm, and 232 lb-ft of

Seriously guys - could they REALLY leave black holes in the CLS? If so I am gonna put some friggin road lamps in there from the 01/02 .... that would be stupid. Perhaps there will be an option of real fogs?

By the way - no more HP and no body kit was a big let down for me ... not 100% pysched, but 95%

very possible.

you have to keep in mind... Acura typically doesnt put "dealer installed options" on their show cars.

the RSX, which has optional Fogs/Bodykit etc... was shown without any options when it debuted in production form.

Hey guys - one OTHER big plus is the engine is the same with regards to mods ... so most likely that will mean 2 more years to have folks create mods ... and now with the 6MT folks might see more benefit to creating mods .... I want RES for my 6MT

I don't think they'd drop the roadlamps and make fog lamps an option on a $30K+ car. More than likely, they moved them into the headlight housing ala M-B.

Re: Black Holes, and no fogs

One of the press releases states that they have made a new intake coming from the lower front. It is possible that they got rid of the fogs, and used one of the holes as an inlet. I hope not, cuz it looks pretty damn ghet-to!

since the headlight housing isnt changed. i would give that a big negative.

it seems as tho they just removed them.

they will either be a dealer installed option...

or the '03 simply isnt getting them just like the '99-01 TL.

you have to remember... it may be a 30k... but that doesnt mean its high end. heh

afterall... the 01-02 DOES have 5WATT ROAD LAMPS. lol

unfortunately, they dont look as good on the CLS as they do on the RSX-R.

and '01 owners could do this themselves if they wanted.

in fact, Ron @ SE offers this service for like $300 something. heh

Is that REAL brushed aluminum interior trim?...or is it simulated plastic?
That rolling cover that covers the cup holder looks straight out of the storage cover in the civic...cheap!

Simulated plastic.

Same crap that is in the Acura RSX and... non-premium package BMW's.

If you want this trim and you have an '01 or '02... Krylon makes a spray paint that matches it perfectly

Did not notice the body color door handles - I like. If there was two things that were small that I did not like on my 01 CLS was the bowling ball interior and the silver door handles - Acura did good on both!

The door handles would be a good swap except for the fact that I would think they would get scratched up easy.

Changes for the better:
  • Acura logo on steering wheel
  • On*Star functionality
  • CL-P wheels are much better
  • The black accents in the headlights.
Changes for the worse:
  • On*Star antenna really throws off the lines. It's surprising how something so small can do so much.
  • I can't tell if it has any fog lights. Deletion of the fog lights is a bad move.
  • Clearing the top of the back lights. They used to look more evil.
  • The new Type-S rims are too fragile looking. I've always stood up for our rims when someone puts them down for one reason - They are solid and they look like they can support a car like ours. Almost every aftermarket wheel I've seen on a Type-S looks to thin. The new Type-S rims would be well suited on an RSX.
Undecided:
  • Titanium trim - I think I like it, but I like the novelty of our black wood.

The body colored grill makes the car look weird and not as luxury IMO, body colored door handles are nice but I like the ones I have on now since my car is black.

sorry i'm not feeling it. Next car will not be a 2003 CL.

I only like the 6-speed and the type s logo under the s-peed.

other than that, i think i even like my 2001 CL much more.

why the fuck did acura not put on nicer rims?

i mean, even though our rims scratched, they still were probably the best looking rims that came stock with any car under 40k

Actually, the look more like S2K wheels. Note how they sort of come outward from the center. And you guys complained about scratched rims before...

Well, all I have to say is:

1. I like the updates to the exterior (PLEASE, some real fogs!)
2. I'm all for OnStar (at least for the first year when its free)
3. LOVE the 6 speed
4. Don't like the look of the antenna, but if it improves reception, hey!
5. Hand brake is great
6. Rear lenses...not sure. still undecided
7. Faux aluminum. NO GO in my book!

Other than that, nothing major here. I like the updates as a whole, but I'd only switch if I could get the 6-speed. Is it too late to pre-order??

Dude - I have never been good with gear ratios (yeah - I know - I smell) ... what does that mean in english with regards to the numbers you posted? Hopefully it means it never leaves VTEC if you punch it and 1 2 3 are all STRONG as heck !
