Kuhmo ecsta in winter.??
Kuhmo ecsta in winter.??
i know they're not recommended for all seasons, i was wondering if anyone has tried these in the cold? and or ice? are they really that bad? i'm buying rims and tires from a friend, they're 's 235/40/18's... thanks
NOOOOO!
NO -- do not use the 712s in the winter (snow and/or ice conditions) and don't use any of the 3-season ONLY tires in the snow. (The Kumho 712 is a 3-season tire.)
If you go to Tire Rack, you can find "ultra-high performance all-season tires" that will work for you
AND
There was even a well though out thread about this topic (all-season) tires from a few days (to a week) ago...

I dont recommend it at all..I'm back to stock tires for the winter, but last year when I got my khumo's first put on I ventured in some very light snow...I didnt have any problems...but it was very light
Exactly what EricL said. If you buy high performance three season tires don't expect for a second that they are going to be anything but trouble in snow.
The laws of physics dictate that a wide, low profile tire with small rain grooves is going to act like a snowplow and provide little if any control to a car in snowy conditions.
