Was at a street race in Houston and this guy with a Yellow Turbo Bug (with purple underbody's) starts talking about how he can run all over Acura's. So I ask him to line up and make a few runs. We race twice up to about 100mph and both runs I took him by about 3-4 cars. I was suprised though, those Turbo Bugs are pretty quick; he stayed with me until I hit 3rd gear. But it's still a chick car IMO

I am not suprised. I wouldn't have thought that the turbo beetle was as quick as us even without mods. Maybe I am wrong?

it was probobly stock and an auto, My gti would run a cl-s no prob!

 

It was stock, but he had the manual. After we raced he said he was launching from 2500rpm.

 

Sounds like you have a nice GTI from your list of mods. However, I would race a turbo bug anyday.:ghey:

 

at least you have the ballz to, but all you'd see is the beautiful ASS and shiny type-s emblem.

it's definently a chick car except the Beetle RSI!

 

A few years back when the SI was being re-introduced, thy did a comparison test with the SI and the turbo beetle. They said it was comparable performance. I would hope that the CLS would romp all over it.
