crippler22 you are the biggest joke I ever seen lately who keeps highjacking my thread with NONSENSE. Your credibility = and here is a proof for you to end it once and for all.

Attached are pics of lightly modded '06 Monte Carlo SS who ran consistent 14.1-14.2 with custom INTAKE and even managed to break into 13s (see timeslip).
I'm sure you're aware it weigh 200lbs less than your Impala SS. Now, look at his 1/8 mile which equal 79.8mph which I still find it impressive thanks to low-end torque.

Reference: http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=493497

Again, modded MC SS with less weight cannot reach your fantasy of 90mph in 1/8 mile, so are you still going to post you did?
And since you mentioned you saw it on speedometer, I suggest you to bring your SS back to your dealer and fix it or visit a nearest Pearle Vision to check your eyes.

Finally, here is another post I found on LS1TECH regarding Impala SS run.

I wonder if your 1/8 mile track "simulates" what you should be trapping in a full 1/4 mile and that's the number you keep referring to?? Or maybe you're actually racing on a full 1/4 track and you just didn't know it. Look at your timeslip more closely.

I'm just giving crippler22 the benefit of the doubt. I feel kinda bad everyone is picking on him.

you should probably STFU until you have some real numbers. flash light drags...

my CL-S on nitrous ran a 8.60 @ 83.37 in the 1/8th mile, and I guarantee that it would have shit ALL OVER your Impala in the 1/8th, 1/4, you name it.

If you re-read his posts you'll notice he hasn't been to a real dragstrip, he's not sure if the "strip" is really an 1/8th mile, and his trap is derived from looking at his speedometer.

BTW, crippler, trap speed is not determined by the MPH you're traveling when you cross the finish line at a real drag strip. trap speed is the average vehicle speed over the final 66' of the strip.

Why dude? This NOOB started first with a HUGE doubt and without checking details first said "...Sounds like you are a mid to high 13 sec car realisticly." It was freakin' rude. Then he proceeds with BS statement like his stock Impala runs 90mph in 1/8 mile and WE KNOW its BS. Many MORE powerful cars here do not reach that speed.

He deserves what's been said and facts were presented

Boy you guys really set me straight with all of those cuts and names you are really mature. I see no problem with questioning something. If its true just prove it and be done with it. I didn't take offense when you questioned me about my 1/8 speed even with the name calling. It prompted me to research the drag event that I was at and I found that the person who set up the strip made it longer than an 1/8. It was not known the exact distance because this drag event is held at a local airport. There are no time slips. Its just for fun. I in fact questioned my SS doing 90 in the 1/8 but thats what my speedometer read at the end of the strip. I am planning a trip now to a real 1/4 mile strip to get official results. I will post them when I get them.

ROFL so it wasn't even a real track that couldn't clock your speeds and you just guestimated what speed you THINK you were doing at a an also guestimated distance?

wow... you just keep getting more BS with every post

Your right Mike, nice kills 02av6. Your car sure sounds fast. I would like to see it run, or even race sometime. I didn't mean to talk trash on your car, I thought you would just tell me what all you did to it and show me your timeslip. I found out for sure that the strip I was at was longer than 1/8 mile it was more like 1/6 mile. We were running just for fun. So my SS is on par with the rest of them running 80 in the 1/8. So if there was any BS it was from bad information for that I sorry. Keep racing safely!

Good recovery crippler, I like to hear that you can admit to misinformation and take it like a man. The SS is a nice car, I travel on the turnpike alot from pittsburgh to carlisle and see a fair amount of Impalas on the road. But going through the twisties in Somerset, they seem to have some trouble taking the bends when I was tailing one.

I only have an 01 auto, but if you know a local track in the pittsburgh area, maybe we could give it a run so you can come back here and tell everyone how your crushed the CL-S..... Just kidding, but really I have never run at a track and am curious what my car can do.

Your right the SS is not a handling car its a straight line car. What kind of track do you want? There is a 1.6 mile road course in Beaver county, Beaverun Motorsports complex or there are the flashlight drags at the Zelienople airport in august.

So there are some 1/4 mile courses in the Pittsburgh area? If there is, you name the place and we could meet up for a run. None of those short 1/8 or 1/6 mile courses you were talking about, lets try to find a nice 1/4 mile course to run on. If its like $20 or $30 bucks to make a run, we can place a bet that the loser has to pay the winners track fees, this will make it a little more competetive. ALl in good fun though...

I will even leave my spare in the trunk so I have an excuse if I lose, I will blame it on the damn spare tire.

I didnt know pittsburgh was so weak when it comes to looking for a track. I will look to see if there are any tracks that we dont know about in the area and will keep you informed.

You should've asked before making any statements and I’d list them. Changed rims on the second pic.

....

I confuse many with my car performance with followed priceless facial expression since nobody expects the 6th gen. AV6 to be fast. It's quiet, dropped and with minimal exterior changes. But what’s under the hood is more important

And here is a list for real tracks in your area:

LUCKY DRAG CITY - Wattsburg - 1/4 mile
MAPLE GROVE RACEWAY - Mohnton - 1/4 mile - NHRA
NUMIDIA DRAGWAY - Catawissa - 1/4 mile - NHRA
PITTSBURGH RACEWAY PARK - New Alexandria - 1/4 mile - IHRA

Another thing I forgot to add is my Apexi single exhaust coming next week which going to confuse others even more with V6 badge removal and will look like 4-banger from the rear . Most important it's quiet but should provide decent gains.

That is one of the nicest looking 4th gen AV6's I've seen in a long time. Very subtle and has the power to back it up.

Nice kills. And don't let the Impala SS troll give all of us domestic guys bad names.

Some of us are pretty realistic and have a good understanding of all vehicles. That and I was a honda guy for a few years.

Hell, I've got a LS2 GTO and don't trap 90 in the 1/8th, who was he kidding.
