Keeping or selling after 100K?
Just wondering how many of you guys are selling it, and how many of you are gonna ride it out until the tranny dies? What are your plans after it hits 100K?
It seems like we have a lot more people leaving then joining the CL forum

J/K Good to see you're sticking around
Also, what do they charge you to put your vehicle on consignment?

mine's over 80k now, but i'm plannin on keeping it for quite some time. That's the only reason it's in the condition it's in (mod wise). If i was plannin on just dumping it after 100k, i definitely wouldn't have dumped anywhere near as much money into it.

Oh, I didn't give them a dime.
The very next day a guy called me about it after seeing it on craigslist AND that car lot and a few weeks later he got the funds together and bought it.
Speaking of Chris... where is he? I invited him to join us.

I'm closing in on 100K really fast. But I ain't getting shit for my car at the dealership, and the best I did on e-bay was about the same as the dealership. I'm going to try to trade it in this weekend for 2 cars. Maybe the dealerships will be a bit more helpful if I'm getting 2 cars and trading in 1.
But, I'll stick around. Maybe in a year or 2 I'll have a 3 pedel version.

I was going to trade mine in for an '06 TL navi-manual a few months ago...
Had the bank check went there, took a test drive, loved the car...
Then realized a few things.
1) The new model was going to be different and the old guy at the stealership said it was going to have a 3.5L
2) I was at 100K miles
3) With that many miles and the amount of money owed, I COULDN'T trade it in.
4) I owe 14k - crazy... Can you tell I had bad credit when I bought it. (17%apr)
HAHA! I even called around to dealerships to say that even though I didn't need to be financed, I demanded they pay my car in full for a trade in or I would just go else where... I'm lame! As you can tell, I never got it...

I refinanced and got 7.38% through USAA.
So now, instead of the premium only going down $1500 in over a year, it went down almost $3000 since March (I pay extra).
I don't suggest that anyone goes through bankruptcy, worst mistake of my life. Although it was caused because of my ex-wife who was the real worst mistake of my life!

Just passed 100K miles (200 miles on the new tranny) and I plan on keeping for a while. I can't afford anything new with the same features. If the tranny goes out on me anytime soon, I'll battle with Honda and see what happens. I will keep modding when I get the $$

its not as easy as yall think it is to sell the car at 100k. i tried at 85k and got no luck. again at 92k got no luck. looks like im stuck unless i trade it at the dealer for some rediculously low amount.

Keeping her for a while!! Plus I have 3 pedals so I am at 58k now so I am good for a long time!! I got everythiing that I want in this car, plus noting else really spark my intrest, that is practical of course where I drive to. So hopefully my plans will be to have this car in the next 5 years as a beater by the time thie milleage will be HIGH and have a nice sportscar in the garage (old or new) from an 01+ TA WS6 to a 04+ S2k to a new X?X?X...who knows, but this idea would be nice

i recently have read that alot of folks are getting their trannies fixed/swapped by Acura dealerships for free despite being past the 100k mile transmission warranty. so this has made me consider keeping her around past that. also, i am now on my third tranny and i could say that this would most possibly fall under the Lemon law. is there any truth to that?

I just hit 51K on mine, and I have three pedals. I plan on keeping the CL6 speed, besides 100K is nothing for these cars. Just breaking the motors in at 100K...
I had 2002 MDX I sold in 2004 with 118K on it, with a new transmission installed at 91K if I remember correctly. It took me just over three weeks, but selling high mileage cars depends on who has owned the car and the maintence. Next day I went and bought an 04 MDX. Same color but with more features. The wife loves her MDX, now at 42K miles.

Doubt I'll have the car past 100k, seeing as how I'm around 47k now. Will be paid off in the next few months and I'll wrestle with the decision to dump it for something new (like an MB) or nice-used (like a 911). Alternative will be to keep it for a while and put a '69-'72 Corvette in the garage...
Oh, 6 spd, btw.
