Just ordered a few things for the ride.

New EBC YellowStuff pads, and EBC Sport Rotors, slotted and dimpeled. I've used the RedStuffs before with these rotrs. Great combo, but the reds are for lighter cars, so I went with the Yellows for the CLS. They are a new Formula this year. Check out their web site. Kinda a cool Rally video from Madagascar. If that car uses the Yellow then I should have no problem.

Also just ordered a Underdrive power pulley from Option racing. So can't wait to get it all in.

Anyone happen to have the belt number handy for the underdrive pully? I've just been to lazy to look it up yet. 01 CLS.

Awesome, let me know how the brakes and pulleys perform. I will be looking to purchase both in the near future.

Fortunatly my wife dose a good job of letting me know how she feels about buying new rims. So as you can guess I won't be for awhile, so the moderate dust won't bother me for now.

I have a feeling I'll be very happy with them.

Once they are broken in, I will do some very hard driving at work. We have two 6 mile straight streches with fresh asphalt, and they are very nice and smooth. then one 5 mile or so. We have some great corners to! Don't worry, our base closes on nights and weekends so ther is no one there but us!

I'll let ya know about brake fade, if it happens?

If I had customs wheels I might be worried.

The Redss did dick up my BBS wheels on my Jetta. But man they work well. Just wore a little fast too.

they do cause a bit more dust but the stopping power is worth it, just keep the kicks clean

Well I got the pads today along with the Crank pulley.

Funny thing about the pads is their (EBC) web site says teh YellowStuff pards are good to go for everyday street use. But when I opend the box the first thing I pull out is a page about how these "Yellowstuff pads are for track use only" and "Do not use them on teh street". WTF? I'm going to use them anyway.

How much research have you done on them? They'll outlast the Greens and the reds.

From thier we site.

"EBC’s entry level race material Yellowstuff has slightly lower friction than Greenstuff but with longer lifetime and slightly higher temperature resistance being effective up to over 800 degrees centigrade. The material has been used by many TRD development cars and racers alike, including Martin Bell in his championship winning BMW. Yellow is the choice for that extra percentage of life over and above our Greenstuff and Redstuff range. Yellowstuff is intended for short circuit races of 20 to 30 lap nature, see our Bluestuff for longer races. Yellowstuff is our recommended pad for trackday use."

Also from their site.

"""""Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds that can be used on the highway. The “bite” from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on both street and track. This new formulation has been used by numerous championship race and rally drivers and is truly a milestone in brake pad material development. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with zero rotor damage and the dust is the same or perhaps slightly more than many original pads, this is NOT a low dust pad."""""

Guess we'll have to see how soon they need to be replaced.
