Just bought a CL-S

Hi guys Newbie here,

Just bought a 2001 CL-S this weekend. I freakin' love this car!!

My only prob is I really know nothing about mods that the car came with, so I will be trying to learn a lot from the forum. I just had a couple of questions.

The headers (Comptech) and intake(AEM) were not insalled by the dealer. If I ever have a tranny issue, should I replace these with the stock parts before going in?

Also, I have a few paint chips, the most noticable on the bumper (one is 3 inches long!), and there are a couple on the hood. Will I need to buy primer and clearcoat if I decide to use touch up paint? Has anyone airbrushed these chips?

I've done a search on all these, so I do have some info, just wanted some more advice.

Thanks!

PICS: Paint chips

your dealer should be ok with your mods.

just repaint your front bumper, touch up isn't going to look good enough.

Thanks. I don't know if this guy was on any boards. Found the car on AutoTrader.com. But it did save me some time and money not doing that work myself!

Congrats on the new ridea and welcome to the board.

I'd find out how "mod" friendly your local dealership is before worrying about taking off your mods.

Congrats and welcome Most dealers are cool with the mods, just find one that supports the aftermarket.
