alright so i just got my CL, and i HATE the rims it came with, i'll honestly trade someone for black steelies, i dont have a good picture of my car since i official bring it home tomorrow so i'll try and explain, the rims stick out making the car seem to be wider then it is, to me it looks really stupid, i'll post up the exact details with pics tomorrow (size, tires, ect) but if anyone is interested in a trade.....or has steelies for sale let me now. (TORONTO AREA LOCATIONS)

1st of all, welcome to the site! Now, as far as the rims...I'd suggest checking out the Black Market section here under private sales/trades to see if there's something that might catch your eye..if not, you can also try one of the vendors on the side of the BM under Group Buys & see if they have something you might like there....I'm sure they'll appreciate the support as well...good luck with the search!!

 

hmm they look similar but i dont think they are, i vaguely remember some brand on the cap of the rim but i dunno i'll know for sure tomorrow what they are.

Pretty nice car...already got cleared corners. Upload an up-close pic of one of the wheels, and a shot from behind and in front of the car. Are they 18s? Honestly I don't mind the look...hmmmm

car is a 2001 CL Type S, 135 000KM (about 84 000miles), and i got it for
$10 950, and yea corners are cleared

You're right, those rims don't flow well with the CL at all.

 

i know huh, it puts it in a bulldog type stance. the car drives crazy tho, u can feel a big difference in the type S then in my dads 3.2TL

 

Yeah that's a horrible set of wheels for a CL. You can snag some OEM wheels cheap in the black market... try 3G TL wheels they look good on a CL.

Don't get 3G TL wheels, they're gonna stick out past the fenders, too...unless of course you like that look. Nice find.

 

You think they stick out that much? I haven't seen them on a CL in person. Those wheels are border-line Mexican.

 

no they dont. they sit flush. especially with a drop.

yeah i take back what I said they don't really work with the car at all. You should keep an eye on that headlight that had the condensation...if whoever cleared the corners did a crappy job then the sealant will be bad and the condensation will stay until it is fixed. Look up on how to clear corners using the search button and you will see what the process is like if you don't know.

Are you happy with the purchase? I bought my 2001 cl-s not to long ago, loved it from the moment I sat in the sweet seat and hit the gas pedal

can anyone point me in the right direction regarding blacking out the chrome trim around the windows and handles?

Someone with a black CL-S in the Photograph gallery just got done talking about the black tape; you can get a roll of that at your local PepBoys I think. The brand name is TrimBrite, I haven't heard of a member having trouble installing it so far.
