Thumbs up Back in business

Just got it back. Tranny, new power steering pump, and new interstate battery all for $1990 out the door. Finally I can relax

That guy just ripped you hard lol. He put in a new battery to make the job sound like more than it was. Did he put in a new trans or rebuild?

a new trans IS a rebuilt trans buddy.

its a fucked up trans that got sent to acura to rebuild then sell as a new trans.

1990 is not a bad deal at all. for all u know the battery may have been original and the mechanic was erring on the side of caution.

glad to hear everything is back to normal OP.

when i got my trans rebuilt it took a few months for me to stop starring at the rpm gauge just waiting for it to slip in gear lol...

hopefully all stays well with the trans... drive it slow in the beginning... u need to let things wear in for 500miles or so.. it will increase the life of the trans if u baby it in the beginning... just like breaking in a motor.

I would ask the mechanic tho and see if he replaced the rear main seal.... imho if he did not put a new seal in then i would have to say I am not happy.

don't ask, "hey, did u put in a new rear main seal by the way"

ask "can you provide a list of all the new parts you put into the transmission?, just so i can show all my pals online how good of a deal i got."

;-)

But for almost $2k wouldn't you have put in an Honda trans that's proven to have no issues? I know I would've.
