Jumper problem?

Today I try to jump one of my friend's bad battery. While I just can not do it! It looks like my battery has not enough power. Does anybody else also have such a problem? I have a 2001 3.2CL-P.

He has once got jumpped by Accord. Why Acura can not do it?

Thanks a lot.

I've jumped a car with a CL-P. No problems at all.

assuming you guys actually did the jump properly, i would have to that the starter or solenoid is probably bad in the other car. granted the cl-S has a larger alternator than the cl-P, but that shouldn't matter.

it may even be the alternator of the other car. if the battery is dead-dead 'cuz of the alternator dying, it probably won't start at all 'cuz there's no charge (either from the alternator or the battery) to keep the ignition system going.

but if it was only almost-dead, then there's a chance that it would start. and the alternator (if it's working) would be able to keep the ignition going. it sounds like it's the other car that's the problem.

Cool, AAA's people has come here and they also failed to do so. We believe that it is the alternator which is bad. But one thing I still won't understand. When our batteries are connected I think his car is using my battery to start. So as long as we are connectted he should be ok. At least that is true for the AAA's people. When they connect to my firend's car his car can start, but it will stop right after they disconnect the battery. While for me, his car won't start even if we are connectted. Why is that?

maybe because aaa's battery is dedicated to just jumping cars and can spare the juice to start his car and keep it running while connected, while your battery has to "share" the juice between your car and trying to start his.

What kind of car does he have and are you positive you guys connected everything correctly?

Yeah though if his car just dies right after they jump it and disconnect the cables, then the alternator is shot. 90% sure at least.
