I have a 2003 Honda Jetski, F-12X, the Turbo model.

I love it. I went with it due to hardly any maintenance required and its reliable its a Honda. Sea-doos are so unreliable its not funny. Stay away from them.

www.pwctoday.com has alot of info.

Honda Jet ski's IMO are too big, but that might interest some people. I would look at a Sea Doo XP or Yamaha 800/1300R. Those will give you a more dynamic ride.

The Honda 2 seater is not big. Also the Hondas are known to handle better than most 2 seats, including the 3 seater honda. It is winning championship races now. ALot of people say you can't do a 360 on a 3 seater, my Honda 3 seater definitely can easily.

OK Russ...Your Honda Rules. I guess the numerous championships yamaha has won doesnt mean a thing. My 1300R will SMOKE, and I emphasise, SMOKE, any production Honda PWC. The only thing that can touch it is the S/C RXP.

First of all I assume your 1300R is modified. As far as a "production Honda" goes, be careful,...there are extensive mods available now and you will not touch one with even the Stage 1 kit,.... and the stage 3 kit,..... should be outlawed! :P

snowdude 1, what kind of water will you be riding in, and what kind of riding will you be doing? I got spoiled with a pair of 3 seater turbos, jumping in 4-8 ft seas, with the softest of landings, and an almost permenant grin from ear to ear. If your on a small inland lake, you'll get bored quick, imo.

Only if your Jetski is modified will it even come close to me.

If it was modified, once I put on my boost kit, its all over for you. Which its sitting in the garage as I speak. But Riva, one of the big raceing people know the Honda isn't easy to beat, and its one of the best skis out.

I already beat a SC seadoo....

BS......PWC Magazine Tested the Honda Turbo model and a stock 1300R walked all over it. The only way u beat a SC RXP is if the guy wasnt racing. I must admit the RXP is the fastest ski, but with a couple of mods, my 1300R will be right there with it. Riva specializes in GPRs BTW, not Honda's.

You forgot about the RXX silver.

Fastest out of the factory , but not a production machine.

It was made in 2001 only and they made 175

12,000 firm from sea doo----NO WARRANTY

You needed to be an AWA sanctioned driver to get your name on the list.

You obviously haven't kept up with Riva to make a comment about Honda. They do work with Hondas now. lol

thanks

ok thanks so much for the info, the reason i am not looking at the 1300 is bc it is a 2 stroke and i heard they are alot of maintance and also they eat the gas, the reason i was leaning for the honda is bc i heard its problem free until sea doo which needs alot of maintance, also i plan on doing back water riding and some wave jumping for those who were interested. so is the honda the way to go or what should i be looking at more carefully?
thanks

So you're a magazine racer, eh?

Go find a stock Honda and see if you can keep up! :P

I have a Yamaha GP800R and love it. Its not as fast as the 1300 obviously but its plenty quick (gotten it to 70) and will corner on the dime. Theres alot of good ones out now from the Sea-Doos, Kawasakis, and Yamahas. I dont know alot about the Hondas so reading this is pretty new to me.

More like, see if they can keep up. In all seriousness, the Honda will holeshot my GPR, but the Yamaha pulls harder in the mid-upper rpms and tops out nearly 3 mph higher.

Russ, I know Riva works on Hondas, but their specialty is GPRs.

Well to compare gas milege. My friend has a YAMAHA XLT-1200, and he uses a tank of gas during the whole day, and runs out by 2-3pm, thats if we start at 8am. I am still 3/4 full! So the Honda is definitely easy on gas. Towing someone on jetskis or a wakeboard the Honda does well. Just when that turbo kicks in you have to be prepared to let off the gas a little or you will pull the line out of the persons hands. It pulls very hard when it kicks in and really there is no lag, so it kicks in pretty damn fast. Wakeboarding though, no waves, the Honda doesn't make that much of a wave like the Yamaha did. More weight in the back the better for that. Jumping waves, many 2 seater Honda guys are doing that without a problem it seems, even sunk them in the water and the inside of the cabin was still dry wheer the engine is. It is a very tight seal.

Yea I knew that as well, you just seemed to say they didn't touch them at all.

My friends XLT-1200 has the same engine as the older one, I walk away from him. The 1300 though is very close match, they are almost the same speed. One mod would put the other one behind. But one mod to the boost on the Honda, its all bye bye to any Jetski out.

My brother has a waverunner from around 1996 that's still running great. Even after a bad accident... They're built strong I, on the other hand, still have a scar on my left arm

The XLT-1200 is a lot slower(in terms of jetski's) than the 1200R. Now, according to folks on the boards at Riva, they say they 1200R is about 2 mph slower on the top end. The 1200/1300R can be modded to be insanely fast. Checkout Riva's record holding 87 mph Yamaha. Personally, if I was to buy another Jet Ski, it would be the RXP. It should hit 68-70 on GPS stock, plus the XP hull is awesome.
