comptech said not to wrap them because they might crack at the seams. (Which means to me that they can't make headers worth a damn)
So I would imagine that they wouldn't want them coated at all.

I had my Comptech headers Jet coated before they were installed. Since I didn't have the headers on before they were coated, I don't know if they flow better or not. They are supposed to lower the header temperature by about 30 degrees, I think. One thing that I do know is that they don't discolor - they look now the same as they did when they were installed about 8 months ago.

The amount of "flow" will not decrease due to JET hot coating. The purpose of the coating is to reduce engine teperature by insulating the headers and to give a rust proof coating to the metal.

The reduction of radiant heat created by the header will decrease the engine bays temperature. Thereby allowing the engine to perform more efficiently.

I always wondered where the heat goes. Does it end up down stream in the cat, pipes and mufflers? Or does it remain in the head itself? I know on the old V8s the exhaust manifolds act as heat sinks for the heads.
