JENS .. Lemon Law ?

My tranny died for the 4th time now on my way home. Supposedly the fixed one after the new ECU and PCM.

I am sick of it and hiring a lawfirm to try and lemon the car.

Should my dealer have all the paperwork for service records ? And are they available for me to get from them to provide to my lawfirm or do i need to supeona then to get the records.

Any help is appreciated.

You're saying you never kept any of the records for yourself??? Did you keep the invoice statements and the receipts?

it should all be attached to the VIN.... all work done to the car at any dealership will be on their systems.

You need to check your state laws on it. Or look in the lemon law book that should have come with all the manuals in your car. Most states only cover defects for the 1st year. IE-same problems 3 or more times, or at a dealer for 30 days in the 1st year. That how FL's law is.

I can't lemon. Looked into it.

In NJ the first issue has to occur during 18,000 mile or 2 years whichever comes first.

18,000 miles ? was like less than 1/2 a year for me.

Gonna have to run it into a wall

...... or sell

The dealer will have their records and Acura keeps a record of all warranty work but not nonwarranty work as far as I know .Beyond that I would start by getting Acura involved and see what they will do without the involvement of lawyers .Then after that get the laywer and start getting ready to go to arbitration where from what I gather anyway most of these things are resolved .
