Well i got the 2001 model (crappy cup holder)
A sudden stop made the contents of a super-sized day-old milkshake go plunging right at the transmission control box.
Now its so sticky under there that its hard to move the darn thing around from P to D5/D4.
I'm not worried about any electrical failure, because it didn't get very deep, and chances are it didn't get very far because its so much more viscous than water.
Any suggested steps I should take, and any chemicals you suggest I should clean it with?
man, this sucks. I'm gonna try and get that new cupholder too.

Best thing to do is to have it dismantled and completely cleaned out with hot water .I have done this several times in the past with good results .Leavin the sticky goo in there will eventually screw up the manumatic shifter electrics setting a check engine light .
