J35a3 6speed swap

I found a motor with 170k from an 02 mdx for only 100$ going to open it up soon an see how it looks and get a swap under way. This will be my first motor swap so any info you guys can share with me will be a huge help, all I plan on doing is swapping in j32 type s cams and the bolt on headers, ported and polished lower intake runners and manifold, etc.

I responded to your post over on the 2G TL side:

front head cam pulley, front head timing belt back cover plate assembly, front head cam sensors and sub-harness,

flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, rear engine mount and bracket
the coolant 'connecting pipe' (between the water pump and water jacket), water jacket with EGR valve, and the throttle body MAP sensor.

As you've already indicated, you can also take the J32A2 heads and install them on the J35A3 block or just the j32A2 cams and swap them over to the J35A3 heads, this will give you a Type-S J35A3 with lots more torque down below. The CLS6 ECU will work with the J35A3 engine, no problem.

Good Luck!

Keep in mind down the line, If you decide to use that intake manifold spacer the hood on your CLS6 won't close fully.

In addition, If you decide to put a new timing belt component kit on, as part of the swap, RockAuto has the AISIN TKH001 kit for $184.79 before shipping. Use the discount code 0EE4568E734C97 to save another $9.24 before shipping. That's about the best deal out there for that particular brand, depending on your shipping location.

also get any of the gaskets out of the way now.. valvecover/sparkplug grommets/vtec solenoid area gaskets are most likely needed to be changed out..
