I bought my car on March 27, 2006. But I tested it, and it doesn't seem to be off at all. Maybe it's only the US model odometer? This is also making it sound like every Honda product is affected. I don't think my Accord is.

i guess you'll know if you get something in the mail from honda. although, on edmunds.com i did read this:

Accord Odometer inaccurate? Warranty Extension? by rahlquist Jan 03, 2007 (1:28 pm)

My wife and I heard a brief story on the news today about Honda reaching settlement in a lawsuit stating 2002 - 2006 accords had odometers with readings as much as 4% off real world. The settlement had something to do with extending it beyond the original mileage limitation.

Has anyone heard/found any information on this issue?

pits200- i read some of the documentation from the lawsuit, and i guess if you sold your car, you're just out of luck.

Here are some intereseting highlights:

20. What if you already received a warranty extension from Honda or Acura for some other reason?
Answer: The warranty extensions provided by the Proposed Settlement are in addition to any other warranty extensions you may have already received or which you may receive in the future.

(I wonder what happens if you got your warranty from some where other than Honda/Acura? Does it extend beyond the 3rd party's warranty, or only after Honda/Acura's original warranty?)

21. What if I sell my Class Vehicle?
Answer: The warranty extensions provided by the Proposed Settlement will be transferable with your car for its lifetime subject to the original terms of the warranty. Remember, Honda Care service contracts are only transferable to other individuals. Other service contracts may have similar restrictions which will not be changed by the Proposed Settlement.

(I didn't see anything about the money lost on the car when sold.)

There are claim forms up for warranty work and leases (mileage charge).

Ok, I have an 03 6 Speed, with stock 17s. Went on a 50 mile trip on the interstate this weekend. reset my trip odo right as I passed a mile marker. Watched it for 30 miles. It was off 1/10th of a mile after 30 miles. That's only .03%, or a third of a percent. My tires have about 95% tread on them and they should be right at 35 psi. So mine is very accurate.

I finally got my deer killer back from the body shop so while I was on a trip this past weekend, I checked my 01 CLS with auto tranny. After 40 miles I showed an extra mile on the trip. If I have figured this out correctly, I should show approx 121000 miles on my Odometer instead of the 125000 + on it now.

I just made the drive from Chicago to Minneapolis, and used trip A and B to keep track of my ETA to Minneapolis based on google maps mileages. At the major highway transition on the trip, I'd say my trip odo was about 2-3 miles ahead of where it should have been. Checking at the end of my journey showed the same progression. I didn't think anything of it until I read this thread. Sheesh.

maybe the continents are still moving and it just so happens that where you guys are driving is on the fault lines and mapquest just hasn't been updated to the fact that 20-30 miles of new land has risen up and solidified in those locations? Im no astrologist though.
