typeR,

When I spoke to our transmission guy, he told me that Austin's tranny did have a viscous in it---I do not know if he meant that all of the transmissiond had them, but Austin's did have it. (02TL-S) We are doing another trans this week and I will have him look at it as well--01 CL-S--to verify again.

Juker008,

We had a mild pot/polish done along with the 5angle valve job on Austin519's motor. His motor was blown when we received it, so we sent the heads over to be looked at--once everything was verified ok, they went ahead and did some minor work for us. The stock valves are Inconel, which is actually better than Stainless, so they were left alone.

Cams are difficult--we would need to have a car at a manufacturer for months of R&D, testing, etc. I will look into it and make a few calls, but I do not know if anyone would be intereted in doing them.....as you guys know, this IS a very small market to make products for.

Stronger axles are being looked at--we have a company locally that has built them for high horsepower B-Series motors and we will have them take a look at these to see what can be done.

JaDia4,

Yes, I do work for a shop.....its called Velocity Resources, Inc. We have been around for over 6 years. My tech has over 18 years experience in working on vehicles of all makes, models, etc. We do everything from 72 Buick Regal with 455 Big Blocks (500HP, 650TQ on the motor) to motor swaps, to spring installs. We can do it all. Our website is www.VelocityResources.com (thanks! bullaculla)

We have not come up with a name for the new products yet, but have jokingly called the Stage3 motor an "Austin Block"

Red Rider,

We do not know yet, but are trying to see exactly what we can get out of it. This motor, once all is said and done, will be close to 450HP+ to the tires--on S/C and nitrous--and be daily driven. The trans we have on it should be fine, so we are probably down to axles at that power level and we will be working on that as an as needed basis...(not everyone is going to go this far......at least I don't think everyone will )

Thanks again everyone,
Dean Baty

PS: The transmission does have a warranty---just working on the details today.

This a F*ing sweet!! As soon as there is more info on Tranny, I will talk to my dealer on getting this.. I would like to keep my stock ECU witht the tranny upgrade, instead of the water down version they are passing out now.

i'm looking out for you guys...if u guys are successful w/this idea for the av6s, that'll open up a WHOLE ANOTHER MARKET for you guys...remember, there are alot more av6s on the road than tl/cl's etc...as the accords get cheaper, there will be more kids who can afford them and will look 4ward to modding them

good luck

Dean,

Ur tranny guy is he retuning the tranny ECUs or leaving them as stock?

One more thing that u guys should look into are stronger motor mounts that dont blow our like alot of ours have latly.

Stock valves in the CLS motor are Inconel, better than SS? Everyone that I know that blew their engine off of too much N2O all had bent valves. Everyone said that high # of N2O require SS vales.

So whats the warranty on the new tranny, 1-year?

Juker008,

Depending on what all happened when the engine blew, the pistons will usually hit the valves and bend most, if not all of them. Even if the valves were SS, they will bend under that kind of force.

My transmission guy is not changing the ECU, we are still using the stock ECU. Yes, the warranty on the new transmission is 1 Year/12,000 miles.

Thanks
Dean

Oh yeah, forgot that part... I had the FRONT ONLY motor mount replaced!

I was thinking of filling that side motor mount up with that 3M windshield polyerethene stuff I read about lately, becuase there is so much air space around it! The front and rear ones are "air/fluid cushioned"

Front one - just look straight down at the bottom of the radiator fan - cant miss it, there is a small vacumn hose that goes into it.

Upper side mount is near side of passenger-side strut tower.

Rear one is harder to see - need to get under car I think.

Nashua I don't have anything...this is just what austin told me, so I'm just the messenger here . Juker008 you should ask him about some of that , I know he said on the "other" site that he was trying to remove the 1-2 shifts...but it was going to take a lot of work on the ECU and the transmission guy couldn't do it for him. He's a comp engr so I'm sure he has something cooked up...

Yea same here I had only the front replaced, but still I am feeling the vibes from the engine radiating into the cabin.

Throw me the link to where someone said that they are filling the side engine mounts with 3M polyurethane stuff, I wanna read more about that. Especially where they are filling it up and how they are doing so.

Tell me this. When u had the engine mount replaced didn't the engine sound different when u 1st started it? Kinda like it did when u 1st bought the car. Before the engine mount replacement, the engine sounded like a domestic, now it sounds like an Acura.

Engine yea, tranny no. Engine is the same, tranny would need to have ALOT more things added to it to make it a 5MT.

RaptorCLS,

Thanks! This has been a lot of fun to say the least....I am in the same boat---saving up for one for my car

Zapata,

Yes, the blocks will be compatable with the 6-Speeders.

Juker008,

Thank you for your responses, I appreciate it.

PS: We are also working on a way to make this compatable with the California guys and the 91 Octane gasoline you all have.

Dean

You know, I didn't save it! I remember reading it last week posted here somewhere.

Maybe do a search for keywords: "3M (window?/windsheild?) polyurethane", or "Motormount"

Basically you just fill it in with that black window poly!
1) Clean it with solvent
2) Fill it (in layers or all at once)
3) Use putty knife to compress out air bubbles and to smooth out
4) Wipe off excess with solvent
5) Let it dry and cure (min. 24 hrs!!!) before driving (48hrs is best)
6) Take it out for a test drive!

FYI to the guy asking about Accord tranny kits. There's one coming out from a company out west I believe. But I'm sure we can use comptetion since competition brings down prices!

There are a whole bunch of pics on that link.

No dyno---the motor only has about 700 miles so far and the customer is on the way back to TX with it. I will see if he will have one done when he gets back home.

Thanks

Hey dean your options include the shipping prices. If I brought my car there and had option 3 installed, how much would the difference be since you wouldnt have to ship it. I live in gainesville so I would be able to crop my car off. So basically what is the price of stage 3 - shipping = ? Also how much would you add on to the install price if you installed an upgraded clutch while you were switchin the bottom out?
