Is300 vs. Cls6

Just a feeler, obviously this is a CL forum but I wanna see what you guys think about these two in a comparison .

Both cars with a manual transmission are somewhat rare , which I like .

Lexus Positives IMO :

RWD
4 Door (preference)
Larger aftermarket support

CL Positives IMO :

6 Speed vs. 5 speed
More powerful , slightly
Only produced 1 year , I love rare cars.

Anyhow , I just wanna hear what you guys think about them and which you think is a better car , considering they are in the same class pretty much .

is300...yawn, i've seen too many on the road and most are driven by cute women. Will you be buying this for your sister mike? haha i kid, I have seen some decent examples, heavily modified and done right, but I still prefer cl over is300.

Now a 95-00 SC400 is a totally different ballgame, that's an easy decision and no question the sc400 would win my vote. I just missed out on one before I got the cl and still like them. I've seen some sick examples of sc400's done right, but you probably wouldn't be the only one in town. I also liked older GS400's modded up right, but again more out there and a beast on gas...either way all are great cars, hard to go wrong.

For the right car nut the lexus maybe the one to go after because of the aftermarket support. I do think 95% of them on the street do look like sissy cars. Even if I get other cars I will keep the cl. I've had lots of cars over the course of my life and besides the cl being fwd I really like it all around better than most that I've owned and drivin.

Personally I have always hated that car I always felt like Lexus half assed it on that model. When they changed to IS250 and IS350 it was a great improvement to that platform.

I didn't know the IS had a manual. Rare is right, everyone I ever saw is auto.
The IS may feel faster. It's TQ is more then the CLS6 as well as at a lower RPM. It's RWD which will plant the power better. It will also out handle the CL, stock for stock.
The CLS is an overall nicer & better looking car though.

I love my cl-s. My only gripe would be Acura messed up by not making this a rear wheel drive! I know nothing of lexus. Never rode in one. So I honestly can't say one thing or the other about lexus. But love my cl-s. Kinda wish it was 6sp though sometimes. Joe a

Theres one in town already (sc400) and its absolutely perfect . Slammed on its face pearl white with chrome rims flush as hell . I just don't like the interior at all .

As for everyone else , yeah I've seen quite a few women driving 300's too but all autos with parchment interior . I want a 5 speed black or grey interior . They have a good support and mine would be heavily modded from mom mobile to race car for sure .

I'd take the IS personally if I had to choose, mainly because of 3 things

RWD

2JZ motor

and aftermarket support is rather large for it.

But thats just me.

IS300 all day.

As said before, RWD and 2JZ - nuff said. After having VTEC I would kinda miss it... but there's just more room to make an IS a faster, better performing car than there is with a CLS.
