Hello fellow aziners, just wanted to share the news that I finally installed my CT blower! I love it except for a belt squeal I can't seem to get rid of. Seems like it squeals when I start it up until it warms up. Then it will squeal every time I accelerate. Gonna have to figure it out. Also, I was surfing the net and found this article from the car driver comptech test drive back in 03. I read this back then but I just realized the hp/tq numbers and wanted to see if you all thought they are realistic.
"The $4495 supercharger system alone is worth 54 to 57 horsepower at the drive wheels, according to Comptech. But this particular car, built for display at the 2002 SEMA show last fall, also carries Comptech's headers and down pipes ($1249) and mufflers ($669) to produce a claimed 369 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 302 pound-feet of torque at 5400 rpm at the crank. Considering the modest boost, a 109-hp thump up in output bangs on the edge of credulity"
How accurate do you all think this is? The reason I ask is because I have all the same mods on mine except my exhaust is a greddy evo2 catback. I've got the icebox, headers, UR lightweight pulley, and mugen cooling mods. Those of you with similar mods can you chime in and let me know if this seems accurate? Thanks guys!

I think I'm a little jelous.
Use some belt conditioner on the pully side and some silicone spray on the outside of the belt.
The conditioner will give the belt more grip and the silicone spray should take the sqweel away providing the belt is not trashed or rubbing somewhere.

Thanks man, 3 years in the making to get it like this! I actually just figured out its the tensioner pulley that's the problem. Went and checked it and it's got some play. Also listened to it when running and you can hear all the movement inside. Just learned something new today from a buddy of mine on how to use a screwdriver as a ghetto stethoscope! Nice cheap alternative but yeah the pulley is the root of my noise. Anyone know of a replacement besides calling ct? I was just gonna take it to the parts shop and have them look of a similar one.
Those numbers are at the crank not the wheels. Assuming a 15% drivetrain loss that would be 314whp.
I have seen multiple s/c cars post dynos of less than 300 whp. Usually around the 290-305whp range.

welcome to the club! have you adjusted the tension on the pulley at all? Also, does the belt seem straight? The instructions mention that sometimes a washer is needed to properly align the pulley of the s/c with the existing ones.

Thanks guys! I was waiting for the pic reply, pics coming soon don't worry. Yeah I thought about that also with the washer but it actually lines up perfect when it's off and when it's turning. If I lube the belt it goes away because there's no tension on the pulley, but as soon as I give it even a lil bit of gas and I see the lube "wear" off the belt it starts squealing. Sounds like there's a squirrel MMA match going on under the hood! Also I can feel the play on the pulley when it's off. Obviously not a ton of play but there should be any. Anyhow thanks for the replies and I'll post some pics so you can see

Yeah I figured that but I thought it was odd that "CT" stated those were the numbers to the wheels. Only thing I can think of is if they were running the blower with a HBP. I still have to put the UEGO and boost gauge in to really see what's going on. Then from there I'll plug up the emanage with the boomslang and try to tune it a bit. Still got some work to do but I'm just glad it's in for now. And I must admit that whine is addicting! I only want to stay in the higher rpms but gas is a bitch!
