i too would like to quite the cabin a bit. I thought about just dyno matting the rear deck. as i've never messed with dyno mat and the deck seems like it would be easy.

I'm still waiting for someone to put 03 mirrors on an 01. that would help a lot.

While I was installing my read 6x9's I decided to do a little sound dampening. I bought some carpet padding (about $8 worth at Home Depot) and lined the entire rear deck. I cut 2 holes for the speakers and 2 holes for the tabs that help hold the deck cover. Make sure you line under the 3rd brake light as that is the culprit for alot of the rattles (I have a spoiler so the light is useless anyway). I took the extra padding and lined under the rear seats. The car hasn't been this quiet since she rolled off the lot.

That dyno-mat stuff is supposed to work great, but my problems have been solved for about $150 less. If your problems are just plain road noise, then maybe new tires would help. Oh, or you could drive slower.

Nice write-up. Do you have photos of this install?

PS - Does anyone know why my registration date, &c. has been reset?

You guys have problems with interior noise? Everyone remarks on how quiet my car is on the freeway. Did they improve this between 01 and 03?

i thought the only sound deading changes was a thicker glass for the sunroof and better side mirrors.

where is the additional sound deadening material installed at?
