Interesting Dyno Comparison Worksheet

This is a pretty cool worksheet from Vishnu Tuning up in the Bay Area. He is a pretty well respected import tuner.

Reading some of the links in his site explains more about dyno differences... but this worksheet illustrates the final outcome.

Plug in 500 crank hp in the 'desired' column:

does that mean that the dyno jet has less losses than the dynopack... it seems the opposite way as the dynopack has no rollers....

They appear to be the same - some venture to say 3%-5% more loss on a dynojet. I believe the dynapack is more along the lines of a 3% variation to the dynojet - most of it is in the 'noise' of the measurement. It's just interesting information to know what some of the tuners feel the differences are.

You could dyno 3 times on the same unit on the same day and you would get 3 different readings.

Beat me to it, but I think that evilone was trying to say that the differences would be significant, given the same conditions for all three dynos & pulls.

Aye, I can't argue with that.
