Interesting article on MSNBC today

Our NJ's beloved Park Avenue Acura is mentioned negatively in this article:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/996108.asp?0cv=CB20

I am sure this Internet sales department/person of Park Avenue has nothing to do with the Acura service department.

That looks awefully bad on them...especially this part:

When they looked closely at the “feedback” for “ParkAveMotors” on eBay, they saw numerous suspicious positive ratings that appeared to have been faked, such as praise entered moments after the end of an auction by users who had registered only hours earlier in some instances. After the evidence was sent to eBay, the Park Ave Motors account was suspended.
But no sooner had Park Ave vanished than some of the same vehicles it had been trying to sell — easily confirmed by the vehicle information numbers posted on the ads — were listed by a new eBay seller, “Maywood Motors.”
The Waydens alerted eBay to the subterfuge and provided evidence that Park Ave Motors was continuing to sell its vehicles on the site under a new account, but no action was taken. Soon afterward, Park Ave Motors was restored to good standing and Maywood Motors vanished as suddenly as it appeared.

Your should have made a reference to Park Ave Acura in your title.

I would never buy a car I couldn't inspect. Saving money with a 'good deal' on e-bay is not work the potential problems. I bet those dumbass people wish they spent the extra $ to buy locally.

That is a story that "should" get the gov. or somebody all over e-bay! They do absolutly nothing to protect buyers, and everything to protect sellers! I would never buy from e-bay, although I will use it to get an idea what something should be selling for and possibly hookup with one of there sellers directly. Awaiting to here what PAA has to say about this..

I don't remember ever reading about anybody buying their car from Park Avenue and it being the same fantastic experience they get at the service desk. I know that their service is top notch, but is their showroom full of "highway salesmen" (smooth talking rip-off scam guys)? I know that's how my dealership is, the Sales Department would rip their moms off, and I'd never set foot in there to BUY a car again, but their service department has always been great for me. I wonder if this is true of Park Avenue too.

How did MSNBC interview Gary Elias if he's not working at Park Avenue? Perhaps he's a crook that stole Park Avenue's identity and phone #.

After reading this article,I did some checking. I believe the person named does the E-Bay sales for a used-car satellite store of ours. I don't know him or anything that goes on with that area of the business. I do know the ownership and their philosphy of doing business, and I know that that is not it! Everybody I know in this organization is dedicated to providing the best, most honest service and sales experience possible. I have a feeling that when the Dealer Principle learns of this, changes will occur! Those of you who have patronized us know how ParK AVe Acura operates. We are all appalled at this news!

So you're saying that the person who does the e-bay is not controlled by the PAA owners? It's a seperate operation? Or the owners of PAA have different standards for different operations?

Well I don't know what to say except I am very dissapointed to hear this .Since I have no facts other than what I read in that MSNBC article I think it might be best for me to stand by the sidelines and let this unfold .The only thing I know now is that this person does in fact work somewhere in the Park Ave Group but that is about all .Hopefully this will all get resolved to everyone's satisfaction .
