Here is the first one which is shipping to Chemmech today. It is the complete system less the HBP and FPR re-calibration kit which shipped directly to him from Comptech. The second system will be installed on SCTL-SS car next week.

The next two systems will be shipping in the next couple of weeks. That is it for the time being.



However, after having spent the time on these and with the failure of the RES plate I am rethinking this venture. It is simply too time consuming especially with the girls getting bigger now and very enjoyable to be around. I'll probably do a few short run items for those wanting things which cannot be had elsewhere but that is it for protmoting anything.

I will continue to make items for myself and provide the details to anyone wanting to fabricate on their own.

Actually, Hope Systems, Inc. is a corporation I have had for quite some time. I just diversified the markets it was associated with.

I'm not dropping this completely; I will still make parts for myself and will provide certain things to others. But am not actively pursuing sales or marketing the business. The items I make will either be in an initial run or on a requested basis with the later costing more for obvious reasons.

 

Quite honestly, the lack of desire to keep moving forward is probably due to the complexity of these IC kits. If it were a simple item which had a couple of parts/vendors I might not be as down on doing this further. The problem here is that I have over ten vendors for this kit, some are ordered, some require me to go to a store. This doesn't include the time required to prep many of the item such as the harness and heat exchangers. Either way, doing this on my time has eaten into time I could spend with my family.

 

Yup, know the feeling Steve - that's why its easier said than done when folks keep asking if I will be making a production kit - there's far more involved than meets the eye. BTW, I am going to apply for CARB exception on the turbo kit

 

To keep your day job, respond to customers and make complex kits takes away most free time. In years past that wouldn't have been a big deal but now with the twins it is a different story.

That is awesome about the CARB exemption. Please keep me posted.

 

JUst wondering if you still plan on doing the wheel hop bars? If not, I know a local shop that will make me some.

 

Yes, I have the ptototypes done I just need to test them. That will be an item I will do an initial run of and be done with it.

sweet i installed my 6mt ice box late last nite and tucked the VSA assembly in the engine bay and would be interested if you have any more thoughts on removing it altogether...you mentioned jumping the connector?...BTW im calling doug right now about his RES

Naw, not enough market for anyoen to buy the design.

Heck, if someone wanted to copy it they have everything already. I have been posting design details on this forum for some time.

IMO, there is not enough market to justify it. There may be 100 SC kits sold for the various platforms. I doubt even 10% would take it further.

Naw, I have a full time career and one I am very happy with. This was just something on the side to get more items out for the J-Series.

i was wondering how you were able to manage everything, cause it sounded like you were actively working on parts for the j32 on a daily basis.
btw steve, i think you are doing the right thing by freeing up some time for the twins. they need their parents as much as possible especially at such a young age.

also, will you still be able to provide me with the harness for the emanage? i havent heard from you about it, ever since i pmed you on Sunday. i completely understand if you will not be able to do it anymore. pm me and let me know!

 

Naw, not a daily basis. I mostly worked on stuff when the girls were in bed. But that detracted from other things too, etc.

Yes, the harnesses will be available. I'm waiting on word for when the parts will be ready and I plan on getting enough for five harnesses. After that we'll have to see what the demand is and what we can do. I'll let you know when the parts are in and ready.

 

great job scal. i dont blame you for wanting to spend your free time with your kids. after all it is just a car and family is much more important than that. but we do appreciate what you have done for us on the board. i just wanted to say thank you for all the help you have given us!!!!!

 

The kit looks awesome Scalbert ! I will take some pics as I do the install, for those who are interested . I'm also gonna be replacing some brake components to boot. The real problem is not to go wot as I need to properly bed the new pads and rotors!

The kits looks great and very involved. I too agree with your decision. Time with your family will be the best investment a man can ever make. I'm sure your wife will appreciate you even more for it.
