Custom grille--no wing?

I'd like to change the grille to remove the A and the chrome wing as well on my 2003 6spd. I think that the chrome looks a little out of place on the front end with the emphasis on dark colors that came with the 03 model. Has anyone else done this and if so, can you point me to pics. Thanks

George

for mine, i just painted the a's and the wing black. http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147202 You can see the pictures of my car here, just scroll down the page a little. Also, smitty was trying to hook up a grille kit from grille tech for our car. The info is here. http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127344
The only other thing i can think of is you can remove or cover the a and wing with a custom metal mesh. Youd just need to trim it to fit the grill cutout.

thanks, Brian for the info and the link. When you said you sanded down the wing and A, did you merely rough the surface or did you completely remove the chrome, down to plastic?

so is the 'A' and the wing not able to be taken out? Because all I see is people putting mesh screens over it, yet in some pictures, like above, you can see the wing and 'A' through the mesh. Personally I don't like that. And I was wondering, why not take that shit out, then put on the mesh? But I suppose you can't?

We are talking about taking off just the chrome wing piece, no the wing section behind it that it screws into. It'd be alot of work to get rid of thawt and have it look good. You could do it if you chop the piece out, then sand it down and fill it in with bondo if needed anywhere then have it painted. I just painted my a and the wing piece black so it doesnt stand out. If and when the grille tech grilles come out, i might get that and put it inbetween what i have now.

Same color as the grille is actually. I think the sun is giving it a bronze tint. The paint was just rustoleum flat black.
