Intakes for the CL Type-s

Hey, I have an auto 03 CL Type-s and I really dont need the extra power (since there is hardly any noticeable gains) from the intake I just want the sound. So I was wondering if anyone makes a CARB Legal short ram for the CLs. Also does the comptech air box change the sound at all? And one last question, does anyone know the different between the AEM COLD AIR & HYBRID INTAKE SYSTEMS and the AEM V2 INTAKE SYSTEMS?

Thanks,

Eddie

i can tell you a few things. first of all that avatar has got to go. now, the Icebox doesn't sound any different from the stock, squiggly airbox under all driving.
cool. late.

Icebox from what I hear makes no sound difference but gets the most gains, although minimal in the grand scheme of things.

AEM and INJEN make a louder sound.

AEM CAI is your only option for the Type-S from what it looks like from the AEM Site (Someone correct me if I am wrong here).

V2 and Hybrid aren't available.

Oh by the way... Search is your friend

The Icebox is the way to go. No real difference in sound. I had the AEM before I swapped it out for the Icebox. I like it 10x more. IMO, don't waste your time and money on a short ram.

Get the Icebox... Mine makes a little bit of growl over stock, it's definitely a nice sound, and the power gains are noticeable.

I got sick of hearing loud intakes after having a short ram on my old maxima.

i love the fit and finish of my ice box, plus it sounds aggressive when you are listening for it. i have nothing to compare it to though.

Remove the intake resonator. Your CL will roar under full throttle and you will gain 5 or so ponies to boot.

If you want the sound them the AEM is what you want. It screams in vtec.

Injen, AEM - aggressive sound, esp in VTEC
Comptech - makes most HP, resembles OEM equip, not very loud

PM me if you need prices.

Ok, there is no "short ram" for the CL-S. They all make about the same power but the Icebox will get you the most. BTW, if you find a DIY kit for a "short ram" don't buy it, all you'll do is feed hot air into your intake. Bad idea. If all you want is sound, removing the factory resonator will NOT give you the sound the CAI will. The only ones worth having for the sound is the AEM and the Injen. And YES, Injen DOES make a CAI for the CL-S. See my sig.

Oh yeah, and BTW - The Injen sounds mean as hell under WOT.
