rice = stickers, giant spoilers, mufflers you could pass a watermelon through...an AEM intake is not rice just because its a little louder through vtec.

but this thread is just dumb now.

A little offended by the ricer comment huh?

BTW I run the same times every time I go to the track, I dont just claim the 1 freak run that was made in the middle of winter and claim that my car is what its not!!

:P
- i know exactly what kind of car you have.

- i have knocked .7-.8 off my e.t.

- no, not offended. the comment is/was stupid, and it was flamebait. i took the bait and responded. it's what you guys wanted, right?

- my car runs consistant low 14's. last time i was at the track i ran 14.30's @ 99.x all day long. temp was upper 70's, humidity was ~ 60%.

- when i ran 14.16, i happened to back it up the very next run w/ a 14.17, thanks. i also have a handful of 14.20's slips. temp was 50 degrees, 50% humidity.

- if we sat down and compared how much money each one of us has invested in our rides (including the car), you would probably want to stab you eyes out with a spork.

next..

tool has done tons of other work to his accord besides the blower (which is respectable).

a stock auto cl-s would mop the floor w/ a supercharged accord (no other mods).

All flames aside , I would like to apoligize for some of the remarks that I made earlier, especially to mattg. I was in a bad mood after sitting in traffic for an hour because of damn construction and after reading this thread later ,I realize that I was way out of line and I should of just laid out my opininion and walked away.

My honest opinion is that it is a matter of personal taste , both perform equally well. When I first started my Accord , I had an AEM CAI (Nov. 2001) and I loved the sound, it made my car sound modded even though it really wasnt. I wanted people to think that I was fast even though I really wasnt.
I even had fartcans (Tanabe Super Hyper Meds F/SBTW ). Now that I have have spent about $10,000 on "performance" mods I would rather sound as close to stock as possible.
Funny how that works- Im slow and I want peolpe to think Im fast,
Im fast ( FOR AN ACCORD ) and I want peolple to think that Im slow.
mattg-
a stock auto cl-s would mop the floor w/ a supercharged accord (no other mods).

I have friend with an 02 Accord w/ CT s/c kit & Comptech headers ONLY that runs a consistant 14.8 at 97 mph, It would beat a stock auto CL Type s.

Not intended to start another argument , I just wanted to point it out.

Andy

p.s. - w/o the headers, the cl-s would win.

Cool, I was a little preoccupied when they were in Atlanta (a week before the twins arrived).

Aenima is the currently selected CD in my CL-S with Eulogy being the track selected.

Nice! You going up to Seattle? Sucks that I'm starting another part-time job in a few weeks... (gotta pay off some bills ) The only other concert I saw or going to see is Coldplay, and will see Radiohead... nothing hardcore this year yet...

sonor can i smack you in the face for your ignorance?? So because AEM is louder, its rice? and PLEASE dont say AEM is garbage because i ran consistent 13.9's and 14.0's wtih AEM intake, comptech headers/exhaust. So shut your mouth and stop being such an ignorant shit. Dont start shit with well respected members of this board.

Hey Robg, don't start taking personal shots at me because of your desire to defend AEM. I didn't take personal shots at you or anyone else in this discussion, but maybe you're just a punk, I don't know.
I call it rice if someone buys it because it sounds better, period.
The Icebox showed better dyno numbers on my car versus the AEM. Others have shown similar results, check our forum. Does this mean the AEM is bad, no but I had some fun with it, oh well.
I give a shit what your car runs with the AEM but congrats to you anyway, good numbers.
Just because I'm of the opinion that the Icebox is superior, shouldn't offend people, nobody said you or anyone else had to agree to it.
You are the one starting shit here, so relax.
To everyone else, it was an entertaining debate while it lasted, enjoy your intakes no matter who makes them.

I get it, the longer you've been here the more you know.
That's hilarious my friend!
Mattg has his opinion and I have mine, why can't it be left at that?
Why does Mattg have to personally attack me, who knows but I'm ok with it.
I just think his response was a little of base, so I responded back.
Gotta go, need to chill.

Mattg , I guess this is what I considered a personal attack.
Anyway, I'm running out of energy trying to keep up with the B.S. running through this thread.
Some like the AEM and some like the Icebox, it's all good.
Was I trying to start a friggin' war over the issue, no.
Was I a bit of a smart ass, maybe but big deal, many of you have been smart asses on this forum from time to time.
Tool and I have done alot of research on the V6 Accord and the CL-S and have over 100 dyno's to prove it, so generally we know what were talking about here. Not to mention we have lived at the track this year testing all of our mods.
Matt, enjoy perfect circle, Tool and I missed them when they came to Chicago, I'm sure they'll be great.
