Cold Air Intake is always better, don't run a Short ram, Cold Air is always better for your engine. You will be fine as long as you dont drive the front end of your car into a 3 foot puddle.

Short ram, once you start moving heat is not a issue, and if you have shit weather don't buy a cold air, cause then you will probably have to replace the filter more often. Or comptech ice box if you can find one.

I'm running AEM CAI with no issues in weather, I would recommend the sock that they sale for the filter it will help keep it from getting soaked.
