The intake is in!! **pics**

We did it. I won't be so brash as to say "I did it." I freely admit my friend did most of the work It wasn't too bad although I don't think AEM's instructions are the greatest. The biggest help of all was good 'ol www.acura-cl.com. A very clear picture by blxmjx of when he first got the intake was as helpful as anything AEM sent!

My Review:
Well worth the money especially since it's easy enough to install yourself. Great sound, a little louder than I thought at VTEC. This thing SCREAMS now. Love it

Thanks!! I'm at 19,500 miles and almost 1 year old. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I live in AZ.... no snow and salt to deal with and very little rain. Although it did rain today
I just cleaned the engine last week. I use Simple Green and a garden hose. This time I even took an old rag and wiped down what I could reach. I clean the engine about every 3 months or so.

Did you take out the resonator box from inside the bumper?

Spiroh,

All CAI will need to have the resonator removed. No buts, ands, or ifs about it. That's where the Cone Filter resides.

I didn't think taking anything out was that difficult. The instructions from AEM aren't great though. I removed the battery so that it was easy to get to everything. The lower portion of the airbox was easy too. Once you lower the splash guard at the bottom you just loosen the 3 bolts that hold it in. One is kind of hard to see, but not really that hard to get to.

cl-driver,

More air does equal more power, as long as there's sufficent amount of fuel as well. If your injectors are capable of only x amount of cc flow/min and you add more air to that, you'll not make any more HP, but also will lean your engine. Of course, the usual intake/headers/exhaust combo that we normally do are far from causing lean conditions.

Another thing, just because you have more air flow, you don't necessarily make more HP as it also is dependent upon the flow. The more turbulent the air is flowing, the less efficient it is. The smoother the flow, the better it is at contributing to HP. If you notice, AEM CAI has a built in velocity stack to ensure a smoother flow.

Anyone else would like to add to this?

Can someone tell me what the main difference between the highly priced AEM CAI and any other kit you can pick up for say $100?

Interesting. I ordered the intake from Tim as well. Perhaps you got yours before AEM had their carb #?

$150 bucks!!

Main differences are probably the material used and the AEM name and company behind the product....
