My GEICO insurance renewal came due and I realized a small increase this year. Upon closer inspection, I noticed an Auto Performance surcharge had been added.

Oh, well. I guess I got away with it for a whole year prior.

Is this a Type S only deal?

I have the same "Auto Performance" surcharge for my CL-S. Increased my insurance about 15% over a regular CL.

 

I have Auto Club and didn't see any performance surcharge. But my rates were about $300 more than the first year. But maybe that was just from the excess mileage. I told them 10k mi/yr for the first year but when I renewed I got bumped into the 15-20k bracket.

I don't know if it is my insurance company (USAA) or the state (TEXAS) that I live in. No performance surcharge here. Man, that SUCKS.

My rates were pretty low to begin with so it seems to have increase by about 25%. And they don't check my [high] mileage to my knowledge.

Yep, I got Geico too, and we pay a surcharge for a "performance car". I used to sell insurance along time ago, and this is standard practice. I guess ya gotta pay to go faster than the CL-P guys.

My insurance went up a little but the guy said it was because of the economy! He said it's not unusual to see increases...even if my record is perfect.

my insurance just increased by approx. $12 a month. I was paying something like $71 a month for my leased cl-s and now it's around $84.

My insurance increased form 130.00/mo. to 177.00/mo when I went from my 95 Max to the CL-S. It's been six months, and it just went down to $129.00.

Y'all are lucky that's all you pay. I pay 1,200 every 6 months and that's because they think the car is still housed in Lafayette at my old place. If it were in New Orleans it would be around 1,500 every 6 months!!!!
