i am 21 with a clean record, and the cheapest i found for what i wanted was about 2600 a year...and that is with another insurance policy for my motorcycle with the same company (progressive) ... i still don't understand why it is so high.... its outrageous.

I'm 24 with just one wreck on my record and I pay $2450 a year. If I don't have the wreck on my record it would cost me $2100 a year with State Farm.

I am 24 and pay $1270/year with 21st Century. 21st century is awesome but only if you have a good driving record.

Progressive is great. I have progressive. I'm 25 with a DUI on my record and I only pay $2600 yr(which is dirt cheap considering my DUI)
*NOTE*
Most other insurance companies wanted to charge me around $4-5k.

It mainly depends on loaction and age, then on your driving record.

I'm 25 with one accident back when I was 17. I pay about $1200/year with Erie Ins.

The state has a lot to do w/ cost. I pay $2,750 per month (w/ clean record, single male, age 24, full coverage). This was with in $10 -$20 of every other quote I got from Progressive etc.
Get married or turn 25...that'll save you some cash!

For me it was the other way around...

I'm married, 25, clean record and my latest premium is 1100/yr for my car and my wifes '01 Alero. The premium on the CL-S is about $600/yr w/ $500 deductable and 100/300/100 coverage.

If I were looking at paying +$2000/yr for ONE car, I'd still be driving my '91 Accord. I can't believe some of you are paying that.

I am 25, clean record, live in NJ, pay 1850$/year.
That's considered to be pretty good for NJ, insurance rates here are the highest in the nation.

33, male, single with no accidents and I pay $1536 a year for full coverage on 2 cars. The CL and a Probe GT from Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Maryland laws suck, but hey, I gotta pay them so I can feel secure.

I am with "NJ Manufactures Insureance Company", you can only get it through your employee if they are affiliated with this insuarance company.

In your case age is the problem, mine was similar to yours before I turned 25, after 25 it will drop.

I'm 29, married, live in Seattle, WA and have 1 speeding ticket (no points). I just insured my 2001 CL-S for <<< $860 per year >>> -- yep, per YEAR! Check out ElectricInsurance.com. Supposedly, GE used to offer insurance to only their employees but recently started offering it publicly.

I agree that location is important. However, since I've lived in WA I've been with Safeco ($1600/year) and Traveler's ($1470/year). I'd say I'm getting a pretty damn good deal right now with GE for $860 per year...

My father-in-law (in NJ) just bought an I35 and pays ~$1600/yr. Not sure, but your insurance rate still sounds a bit high. Or maybe our cars just cost more to repair than a brand new Infiniti.

1. How old is he? After 30 you get another discount, if you are married there is yet another discount.

2. How many doors his car has? They charge more for 2 doors

3. What coverage he has? I have $500 deduct. and $300k/500k/$300k coverage. ( highest coverage I could get )
