Insurance- gotta love GEICO!!!!!

Just added my Type S to my insurance. You have 30 days to add it so I waited about 20 days. In my stable I have a 99 Corvette Convertible, 01 BMW X5, 98 Accord V6, 01 CL Type S. Max coverage and $500 ded across the board. For 6 months, Geico charges me $1510. Love Geico even though they own radar gun manufacturers and donate radar guns to police departments. What do you guys pay?

Since AIG just had a relatively large rate hike in AZ, I switched back to State Farm. I'm now at $605/6 months.
30 yo, unmarried, and finally all tickets and accidents have dropped off the record.

DAMN!!

Compared to mine, I pay like 5900 a year for full coverage, but it only drops down a thousand if I maintain a 3.0 GPA in college, which i have been doing so I pay 4900. Im 21 living in Miami with 2 speeding tickets. Only 1 that the insurance knows about it.

I'm 25 and have progressive and pay 1200/6 mo. I totaled a car but since I have ben with them so long they don't count any points against me. no tickets. They also think the car is housed in Lafayette where I used to live. It would be $300 more to have it in N.O. so what they don't know wont hurt them!

I hate GEICO. They don't insure in NJ and I had them in California. They looked at everything not to pay a claim and they want to use aftermarket parts. They also gave radar guns to the CHP in California when the public would not approve tax money for it. The CHP was catching as many speeders as they could by visual means. I vowed to never use them again. AIG for me and it's $1600 per year. I'm older than most of you (North side of 45) and I have had one accident that was a hit and run (not by me) last summer.

The hex are the sweetest tweeters I have heard in car audio. In my home system I have Sonus Faber speakers. I can't find anything to measure up to those. It kind of sucks- you would think one would be able to get much better sound in your car but its not the case for me. I am thinking about switching out the eclipse amp- maybe that will help. Anyways- the MB Quart was too harsh for my ears even with the tweeter eq'd as low as it would go.

Nice stable of ponies you have there. Over 1000 horsies in your garage. Geico is cheaper than a lot of other car ins. companies but I do not know how good they would be if a claim were brought up (at fault or not). I currently have Allstate and even though live in San Fran, CA pay less than $700/6 mo (no moving violations/accidents).. and I am on the south side of 30 but north of 20 yo.

I think you should move out to B.C. ICBC may be a bitch to deal with at times, but the insurance premiums aren't so bad. I pay about $1900 CAD per year(about $1235 USD)...and, that's with the "limited depreciation" option.

State Farm, full coverage, $500 deductable. I'm 28 with a clean driving record and no accidents.

$750/year.

For the heck of it I asked what a 2001 Trans-Am would have cost me -- $900 / year. ! I love State Farm.

I have had GEICO since 1985 on my own and my whole driving life with Dad & GEICO. Never had any other insurance company. They are the best regardless if they supply radars or not.

That's f*ckin' incredible. I would have thought once a USAA member, always a USAA member. I can't get into USAA so unless GEICO kicks me out, I will always have GEICO insurance and will never consider a switch unless something drastic happens. Is there something to be said for insurance loyalty?

That is a true statement. USAA told me that if things didn't work out with Allstate I was more than welcome to come back. The reason I chose Allstate is because I'm buying a house and they offered me a great deal (the best I could find anywhere) if both the car and house were policied together. The $360/6 months I'm now paying Allstate for the car will decrease to $325/6 months once the house is added to the policy in July.

As for USAA, I still bank with them.

I just wrote my check to Progressive yesterday. $885.00 every six months. I'm 32 and Progressive is not aware of any of my tickets.

There was a silver Type-S at P.F. Chang's in Boca tonight, was that you WildWolf?

Damn. Most of you guys are paying a shitload for insurance. Right now - $508.80 every 6 months w/State Farm. I'm 29, no tickets, no accidents w/$250 deductible on collision and $50 on comp.
When I was 19 I had a 80 Z28 and was only paying $1400 a year. I'll stick with State Farm for now, even though I may check out Allstate one day again.

I just switched from Geico (I had them for 7 years) and they wanted 130.00 a month. I'm 29 single no tickets and no accidents (I spent 6 years on the bombsquad in northern CA/ which kept me out of trouble :-) )Now I have USAA and they gave me $69.00 a month full coverage for $250 comp/ $500 collision coverage. AFter they quoted me this price I called geico and told them they could fuck off especially after they were having me pay $120.00 a month for my motorcycle insurance and now (USAA) has me pay $135 for 6 months!!!
GEICO SUCKS!!

You're paying how much a month for full coverage on your bike with USAA? I was with them for 17 years and had to move my bike over to Progressive because USAA told me up front that they could not compete when it comes to recreational vehicles. I was paying $20/month for just liability! Progressive charged my $68 a year!

Really, USAA's insurance isn't as good a deal as it used to be. Why? Well, it's because their member pool is quite small in comparision to other major insurers and there have been several major "natural" disasters across the country over the past 5 years. I still do my banking with USAA, although I'm not sure how long that will be the case. Several credit unions have offered me much better deals than USAA.

Oh, and when I bought my house last month I called USAA to get a quote on homeowner's insurance. Well, they wanted $100/month.... for the same amount of coverage Allstate is charging me $57/month. Go figure.
