Installed the M6's - looks great..however...

I installed the M6 fog light bulbs, they look 100 times better. However, after a week I have notice some discoloration on the top of the bulbs, they have a slight burnt color on the top part of the bulb. Does anyone else notice this. The inside of the fog light is ok,, no burning there.

they'll burn out and by the time it happens they'll have formed a bubble, then it'll be hard getting the bulb out because of bubble. When i had my auto i just ended up taking them out.

Yeah, they just do that. And as Zapata said they will likely bubble a little before they die.

Then you'll have to break them up and shake out the pieces.

I've gone through 2 sets so far. They tend to last about a year or so for me.

But they're worth the little bit of trouble they cause as far as I'm concerned.

You also might notice the top of the housing will eventually turn a little brown, but it will typically wipe off, and even if it doesn't, it's not like you can see it anyway.

Is there a BULB close to the M6 in Light Intensity, Closer to the size of Stock that Might be a Good Choice for those looking for a little more BULB life, yet more Light than the Stock ?

...and what ever you do Don't Touch the Bulbs with your exposed fingers. Oils from the skin will coat the bulb and generate undesired heat gain = premature lights OUT!!

I have had them installed for a week or so, no burning yet on the top of the fog light..... just a little burning (brown) on the top of the bulb... They still look great. Also.. I run my headlight's 24x7.. so I'm sure they won't last as long for me. Is there a way to turn on the headlights without the fog lights on? can I remove a fuse or something ??

Did you touch them with your bare fingers? That's what it sounds like. They will bubble from the oils on your hand.

Another consideration are the new LED bulbs that PIAA makes if your worried about longevity. I have them in mine. They are brighter than stock or even the other 5w piaa bulbs, they are probably not brighter than the 19224's that are 18w. They do come in three colors; white,blue/white,and blue. Since they are LED they have a cool percise beam to them. By the way i have the white ones

I had the PIAA 19224s (18 watts) and they would also form a bubble, and I didn't touch them with my bare fingers. I didn't have to break these, but I did have to shake some pieces of the blue coating out of the roadlamp housings. Do all these bulbs with the blue coatings end up shedding some of it? Getting that stuff out of the housing is a pain in the ass so I'm thinking about sticking the 5 watt PIAA wedge bulbs in there, but only if I have no reason to believe they'll fill the housing with pieces of the blue coating. They're not as bright as the 18 watt bulbs, but at least they're better than stock. Maybe the heat down here and the fact that I drive with my lights on all the time had something to do with the peeling of the blue coating.
