Install Price for a cold air intake?
I just hung up with a local Acura dealer and they wanted $289 to install
the Comptech cold air intake. Is this normal price rnage? I was actually looking for install instructions on a different thread.

first off, you should know that any stealership is going to be AT LEAST 2 times the going price at any reputable performance shop. $289 just to install an intake is RIDICULOUS. Take it to a local performance shop and you'll get prices in the $60-$100 range.

The normal range is 0. Most do the installs themselves.

That's a crazy price. I'd do it myself for that price.I had never done anything on a car other then change the oil... and I installed my own intake. It took me a little longer then the others (average is 1.5 hours... took me 2), but I got it done and besides saving the money made me happy I did it myself!!
If you don't want to do it yourself take the advise of others... find another place to do the install.

a friend of mine is gonna give me a AEM cold ait intake off a 01 accord v6 (it goes inside the sheet metal where the wheel well is. It looks like its gonna fit but im not positive that it will, can anyone confirm that it would??
I'm a firm believer in DIY. I think you should do it instead of paying someone else. CAI is probably one of the easiest mods to install. Take it on with a friend. If he's handy with tools, then that's a bonus. There are tons of DIY instructions on CAI installation, so search the forums and read up on it. You can do it with basic tools.
yea the accord wont fit the type s i dont believe cuz as mattg said the pipe is too small and the shape is just slightly different. and install the intake yourself... youll learn a lil bit and its not that hard to do at all i promise! just make sure u got all the tools and about 2 hrs in case u get confused or run into any parts u dont understand. goodluck!
