Install an IceBox in Winter

I'm getting an Icebox and Thermoblock spacers for my first mods for Christmas (thx to my lady). But I'm up in Jersey and the weather changes pretty often for the winter.

Should I wait to install the parts til say... March? Or it's no big deal to get em installed right away?

Wussup B, how you
Weather doesn't really matter, it's not going to make a difference, I say if you get your mods, install and enjoy asap, just my no need to save in a closet, unless your installing custom wheels in the winter, that would be the only thing you would hold on to till the weather changes

You don't think I'll get any snow or slush sucked into the Intake? I just don't wanna get hydrolocked.

Hows your phone going btw? You gonna come through and pick up another one?

I still may need some help installing the parts. I'll bring some beers if your up for it D=

There is absolutely no way snow or slush would get sucked up into the intake. On top of the fact that the bottom of our cars have plastic fender lining and junk, the intake horn feeds vacuumed air into the box, and from there it goes to the filter/intake.

if anything, I would imagine the icebox to help more during the winter.

(Colder air)

As others have said there is no way to get slush/snow in the icebox. Lets assume you do wait due to this fact...........What are you going to do next winter

Icebox doesn't take that long to install and you don't have to remove the bumper like the instructions say.

<--Works for booze

Its really easy to do. PLus now is the best time for engine mods. The colder air is more dense giving better performance so those mods will really shine.

You should be OK. Definately no snow or slush related problems with the Icebox. Both should take you about 4 to 5 hours. I would get a garage if you can, but if you can't alcohol will help.

<-------- I too will work for booze.

Someone who knows what they're doing should get it done in no more than 1 or 2.

To do both an Icebox and Spacers. Should take 1 hour. I must not know what I am doing.

Alrite seriously anyone up for installing it for me. I'd rather compensate someone to install em (Cuz hopefully it'd be way cheaper than going to a garage) then do it myself and accidently fuck it up.

If anyone can help out I'd be willing to Drive anywhere within 908,973,732 area codes.

I forgot to Mention I may also most likely be getting the UR SS Pulley set as well for Christmas so I would need assistance there too.

Yeah, I'll install them for ya. My schedule is pretty free too, so time isn't an issue.

I was thinking about getting an icebox but is the "juice worth the squeeze". I mean, what kind of WHP gain you get out of these things for $300, 14? (I think). I just looked at a dyno chart on Comptech's website for the 03 CL-S 6.

14 horses?.....I don't know....

Its one of the easiest ways to get those extra ponies, and 300 isn't really that bad. If you want to spend less you can always get the AEM which is alot cheaper, and has almost the same gains. I went with the icebox because I insist on the stock look and I hate the sound of the AEM.

So to answer your question.......To me YES its worth it, but that opinon will vary with everyone you ask.
