Talking Ingall's Stiffy ETD mount

just want to let you all now that, Ingalls might be using my car, to be able to make a direct bolt-in of their stiffy mount for our cars
so it might help solve some of those motor mount issues, especially the side ones

http://www.ingallseng.com/93051-stif...accord-v6.html
link is for the newer accords though

Excellent news, please keep us posted!

I just did my timing belt and replaced the side mount since it was out... the old one doesn't even look too bad, but OMG what a difference good mounts make.

wouldn't help the vibrations at all, cause it would "stiffen" up that side mount

Cool. Ive been running the NRG dampers front and rear for over a year, and they make a huge improvement.

Oh shows how much I know! lol Seemed to me that new poly/rubber would better absorb vibrations. Also I can't imagine what else I did that would improve vibrations at idle, unless something was incorrectly torqued before and that made a difference.

Just the passenger side mount for now, since it was coming off. When the bank account recovers I'll do the other two.

Really? Interesting, thanks civicdrivr... I have looked for those and haven't found them yet. (Maybe 6th gen v6 accord versions?)... Will have to add that to my ever growing "list"

^^ Well they werent a direct drop in.

The 6 speeds have "torque dampeners" from the factory, I just used the OEM mounts and I believe the dampeners where from a Civic. Some nuts and bolts and they were.

this is for the engine torque dampners, not the engine mounts i assume? How will these compare to the nrg ones ppl use from the civic. i have the civic ones but didnt install them yet. wondering if i should use ones I have or sell them and wait for these.

For $200 that just seems outright like a lot of money for this type of part. Will it actually help with engine movement that much being that it is only going to be at one point on the engine and not at multiple points.

it is up higher, aka at the same level as the P/S pump, so it should help more so then say the NRG dampners that Civic has on his (not knocking, just using as an example)

think leverage, with the point of rotation the motors has

this is not an exact spot, but i would say the point of rotation would be around the crankshaft/CV axles somewhere

Ya, I was just adding some input in regard to the rotation of the engine like you stated. The higher on the engine that this mount is done, the more effective since the engine typically bucks towards the hood and back towards the car on hard acceleration.

I know our cars aren't putting down ridiculous amounts of power, but would putting this contraption at one point on the engine be enough to have that large of an effect?

I agree with that. Thats one issue I have with the NRG dampeners, they are mounted too low. But thats Hondas' doing.

However an issue Ive had with the Stiffy (no jokes) is that the mounting
brackets look a bit flimsy.

Aside from the astronomical price, I may look into this. Then again its easy enough to bend up some metal and get another $60 NRG dampener off eBay and mount it up top (which I may do).

<(in red), maybe i can get them to make it a little more rigid

or at least the joints being in doable shear

i dont think i totally said this, but this is still very early in the process, really only emails so far, but i did call them today, and i am actually suppose to stop by their office tomorrow, for them to have a preliminary look at it

also my car has NEVER been wrecked for the front end, body work is still all origional, including paint

only the right rear quarter panel (rear bumper was part of that too) (and RR door maybe, can't remember) that has had any type of significant damage to it, even then, it was just someone changing lanes, that somehow did not see the previous owner there (saw the damage afterwards myself at the bodyshop it was at)

so still the origional chassis alignment/specs on it

Theyre from a 92-95 Civic/94-01 Integra. Grab some nuts and bolts and replace the stock "dampeners".

Sweet. I may pick one of these up just for another secure point to keep the engine from torqueing.

If they do push ahead with these, try and get them to do a group buy for us

And if they need a field tester, Im always available

On vacation this week, so not much has been done this week, but will probably contact them next week for the test fitmit, but I have no idea when they would be coming out with it though, since they are just using my car for fitmit, and I have nothing to do with the actual selling of it, so no idea of when it would be for sale

yes, i did pick it up , had to figure out a couple of things first, with the design (mainly if they can get the low side A/C port still accesible for service with out removing the mount (it clears no issue, you just can't get a coupler on it currently), then also try and clear up the instructions a little bit better, with more pictures and such

as far as pictures, heres a teaser

i am not going to actually put one out , till it is actually out, which is actually suppose (will happen probably, but stuff does come up though unforseen)to be around the end of the month

as far as it working loving it, and it seriously knocks down that engine movement with only stock mounts otherwise; increased noise, a little bit, but nothing bad though, but i do have it almost maxed out though , but you if you want stock noise levels, you be better off staying with ONLY the stock mounts

as far as stiffer bushings for it, i did ask about them, but not currently in the process though

hopefully not for long though (considering the tranny is leaking/weeping a little fluid after having had puked itself for the second time a couple of weeks ago)

yes, which technically minus the 03 CL-S manual would cover them all

but even then if you look the factory mount is the same part number between the two, so yes it should fit (even the framerail is the same part number too)

also for those of you with the Comptech strut bar, you are not left out either , as you will see it on mine with a comptech bar myself (but they did make me a plate for the otherside as a spacer though, so the bar would mount even, since there is not nearly as much give as the stock one (and if you are worried about it not fitting with the stock bar, i do still have my stock one, and they where allowed to also use it for checking and such, so should be no worries there)

I didnt really understand your comment of all besides manual cl. Does that mean it is for all but the manual? Also the plate they made for the comptech strut bar, I assume they wont make and provide that for me so i would probably have to get a fabricator to make one?

all the side motor mounts are the same, wether TL or CL and manual or auto

that plate is actually just another mount bracket with most of it cut off, as far as availability, you might have to get it directly from them, and i will email them to see if people will be able to get the plate seperate

edit: just sent the e-mail
