If you had $20,000 to buy a NEW (brand new) what would you buy. Not going over $20,000. Im thinking Mazda MP3.
What would you all buy?
Thanks

Try a V6 Accord. Sedan or Coupe your choince!

I guess MSRP is some $23,000 but you can get one new at $20,000!

OK, I know I already replied to this, as did about 9 other people. Did the topic reset itself? Strange. Anyway... my list, again, in no particular order...

Toyota Matrix
Nissan Sentra SE-R VSpec
Hyundai Tiberon
Mini Cooper

Yep I think it was deleted, & reset. I just read it again, & it's a new car. Brand new 2002/2003.

For $20,000, I'd be looking at the Acura RSX and the Toyota Celica. For $25,000, I'd choose the RSX Type S or Accord V6 EX Coupe. $30,000 I'd take a 3.2TL.

The Mazda MP3 is nice, but they're sold out around here (and likely in your area). And they're underpowered...only 140HP. Wait until this Summer when Mazda offers a turbocharged 170HP MP3.

Too bad for 20K you only get the "mini me" Cooper and not the superhero Cooper S.

I agree, but for argument sake I think we're going based on sticker here as dealer markup is too variable.....

...but the sticker is meaningless if the car can't be had for that price. Demand is a big factor for that car right now.

i was in your shoes about 4 months ago. Between all the cars the RSX has the nicest interior, and was the most fun to drive.

Personally, i decided to get a 1 year old CL (w/10,000 miles) for less than the RSX. Power seats are a big plus in a 2 seater.

Good Luck.

Honda Civic SI, you could throw it around like a go-cart, the rally-like shifter is very cool...

RSX looks too girly, The new tiburon looks pretty sexy though(but it is still a Hyundai; but I would probably go with an altima 2.5S because of the four door convience and the looks(yes I know the interior is crappy)

the civic SI looks like crap and that shifter mounted where it is..what the hell is that?? a dildo for your girlfreind??? sheesh, Hyundai Tiberon all the way..the 03 fully loaded with 181 HP 6 speed manual is only 20,495...thats with 17inch wheels, moonroof, climate control, leather, etc, etc...that car is definately the sweetest thing on the market now for less than 20,000 as far as 2 door sports coupes go.

I've thought about buying one and letting Jessica drive it. It'll certainly gaurantee a good amount of head turns. I Love that Car. I'd deck it out with the whole 9, which would put you well over 20K, but still.....

sentra se-r spec v
hyundai tiburon

civic si looks like a pile a shit. it may be the hatchback look that im not crazy about in that car. the sentra is amazing, its fairly fast, 2 tone interior (cloth but its not bad), 6 speed and cd player stereo. i think they start aroun 17 18 g's. and the tiburon is great b/c the looks and the 6 speed, the engine could use some work but looks hott. and that neon SRT is pretty fugly, but its fugly fast so i guess i'd take a black one or white one, yellow sucks ass IMO.

I dunno there... True, that's great performance for a sub 20k car, but the interior... there's just no class you know. Some very cool stuff (race seats, silver shift knob, carbon-fiber-ish trim) but overall very cheap looking...

For 20k, I'd go with the Tiburon. Good value for the money.

Why wouldn't you be eligible?! 'Cause you're an employee?! That sucks. Look into it though.....still cool even if it's not an S.

It's being raffled by the semi-pro soccer team my company owns (The Des Moines Menace) They're trying to raise money for their own soccer stadium. So as far as I know none of the employees at our office can win.....but I will be checking for sure.

I don't think the Neon interior is THAT horrible. Remember... We're comparing 20k cars here. It's definitely not great but not horrible.

I think I'd take the Focus SVT or the Neon

Probably wait two more months and see if the new Accord looks good. If it does look good, i would use the $20,000 to buy a 4 cylinder one.
