is the car faster with the vca off? sorry if this is a dumb azz question but i dont really race the car. a friend of mine just got a 02 jetta 1.8t. it is also an auto, but he swears he is kickin everyones azz. i told him we will just have to line em up and see what he can do with the type-s

 

It's actually VSA and yes, it can be faster assuming you don't spin the wheels. If you have VSA on and the car thinks you're going to spin the tires.... it will reduce HP by around 50 to provide grip. With VSA off you're on your own. If you start spinning, you better feather the throttle to get traction of you're toast. I've only raced maybe 3 times, but I never turned off VSA and I won everytime. Of course they were all slower cars, but as long as you don't mash the throttle off the line, you won't lose power with the VSA on.....

VSA off for sure.

Depending on the surface you might acutally slip from 1>2 you dont want the VSA to come on when that happens it will slow you down considerably.

Turn VSA off bro...I lost to a GTI with it on. I was cocky and told the guy I'll leave VSA on and smoke ya. At the next light I turned it off and there was a different outcome.
