Wrx

I just got the 03 type S in 6 speed and its amazing. So ever since i got my car my friend has been hounding me with his wrx. So i finally race him at like a 600 ft strip and i get slaughtered and plus this was after i put my AEM CAI in. So i tell him follow me and i take him to a nice highway so we can race light to light about a 2 mile stretch with only 2 really fast turns....so we take off again and once again he kills me through 1st gear...2nd i start pullin on him....3rd i'm out.....4th i'm out and once i passed him i had my middle finger out the window and just slowed down before i got arrested...we meet up in town and he's so furious he kicked his car and almost cried home...wrx is nothin

I'll remember that next time I race a WRX. I got smoked by one just yesterday. I got a split second jump on him off the light, but 3 seconds later I was staring at his tailpipe.

That AWD gives the WRX a huge advantage in the lower gears where traction is so important, but once you get going the AWD doesn't really make the car faster...so unless they have some serious mods i say go after them, nice race.

Both are very nice cars, I was actually gonna get a WRX myself. WRX's can easily creep into the low 13s...

thats the thing he can drop his car from 5 grand and just take off i gotta start from like 1500 and i still spin tires cuz the 03 doesn't have traction control. But once we start moving its easy to catch up to that car, its not that fast

Just like the S4, those things JUMP off the line. I don't really like the WRX that much but I would love to launch in that thing!!

The stock WRX that was paired with me at Capital Raceway on 4/12 ran 14.6049 and 14.7484.

I raced a brand new wrx on the way home tonight. it was brand new (~500 miles). From a 20-25mph punch and I gave him the move. He pulled for a second I pulled back. He shifted and I kept pulling till I had to shift and he pulled back a little. I started pulling more and he shut it down. He said that since the car wasn't broken in yet he couldn't go above 6k rmp even though he'd just done it in 1st gear. I gave him the when he caught up and we exchanged pleasantries about our cars.

I'm sorry...I was just trying to extract from his ramblings what exactly he MEANT to say...

Anyway..to stay on Subject....WRXs are a great drivers car...I personally think they are butt ugly...but the seats are fantastic, the shifter is nice...and they have a good bit of punch for a 4-banger....all in all...not my cup of tea. I've run a few WRXs with my maxima...and even when I just had an intake and y-pipe, I could easily pull out on them from a roll.

I'll give you that. The wrx is a great driving car. Handles well but isn't the most comfortable on long trips. I always tend to choose the cls for longer trips. The seats are very supportive and grippy as hell. The shifter was ok, nothing special. It is now worlds better with the sti short shift kit, momo knob and kartboy shift bushings. I also agree with the fact that if you catch a stock one on a roll and he is not in the right rpm range you may definitely pull on him. I'm not big on the stock looks either, I like it a lot better now though ever since I upgraded the front end cosmetics to j-spec pieces.
