Icebox Installation

For those that have installed an Icebox (03 CL-S MT): Is the recommendation in the Comptech instructions to disconnect the negative battery cable strictly safety related or is there some potential damage to the electrics when disturbing the grounding wire to mount the new lower box? I would like to avoid the driver's window reset, idle learn procedure, radio code entry and seating position memory reset that are all required after disconnecting the battery. Thanks.

it's safety related i believe.

some people may tell you that resetting the ecu is important to get the car to 'learn' the new mod. but it's not really necessary.

Safety.

I didn't disconnect -- I didn't want to re-enter my radio/nav codes.

On another battery/Icebox issue, I did have to Dremel about 1 or 2 mm off the edge of the battery cover so that I could put it back on after the Icebox was installed.
