I wonder how the heck these could of still been there

I guess this guy bought a Tl from a junkyard and redid the whole thing. But I noticed that at the junkyard there was still the navi inside, and it looks to me like 19" chrome wheels. Im 16 with a little amount of cash, and I was thinking maybe I can get lucky and find a properly working CAI at a junkyard near me check it out.......

That's Ken's car. I believe you are confused. He crashed that car during a pileup on a highway due to heavy fog. It ended up at the junkyard because of the crash...not the other way around. If memory serves me correctly, I think he pretty much sold the parts thet were not damaged.

That seems to make more sense.
Those pictures in the junkyard look pretty bad.
I’m guessing that car was stripped and crushed shortly after those were taken.

On the picture with the speedometer going to 150mph I swear it looks like the left door is open (the light indicator on the dash board..) maybe it's just a reflection, but that'd be bad times if it opened up at that speed!

It would definately be bad times considering he wasn't wearing his seatbelt at the time. Then again at 150+ i don't think a seatbelt would help.

Yea, I noticed that too.
I’m all for seatbelt use, but in a crash at 150+ I think all it’s gonna do is make the body easier to locate.

Ken's very lucky. He was launched through the windshield, broke a knee, tore some tendons and got cut up. He hangs out on the other TL board.

Say what you want about our cars, but they sure do a good job of protecting the passenger cabin in real-world crashes.

I’m guessing the seatbelt light was ON at the time of the accident too ….. huh ???
I wonder if he wears one NOW when he drives after the little trip through the front window.

Speaking of buying cars from junkyards, I bought my 3.2 CL (Non-S) from a junkyard for 12,500. Did some moderate bodywork which costed 2000, and replaced the airbags for 1000. So I basically got a CL for 15,000. There is no warranty, but I haven't had any problems so far. Money saved will be invested in mods. Comptech supercharger, here I come...

Peace

How did Ken crash his car, and what did he hit? Was he taking the pic at 150 and then swerved into something?

The 150 pic and the crash are not related. He crashed into a truck that was involved in a pileup due to heavy fog. He was the last person involved in the crash and was travelling roughly around the speed limit (65-80) if memory serves me correctly.
