I want my MPG w/ CT Headers

Would the CL and TL Type S owners who have Comptech Headers only installed, please post your AVERAGE Milage Per TANK and/or MPG. Seems I went from an average of 265-275 miles per tank in stock condition, to about 225-245 with CT Headers only. However, all others are encouraged to post their MPT and MPG as well.
Thanks all.

My advice... get off the throttle. Then you might check the purge solenoid valve. I believe it has known to cause a slight decrease in fuel economy.

Sit in your car in a silent area and let the ticking drive you nuts. (while your car is on)

Then go inside your car and feel the PSV.

How many tanks of gas have you gone through from the time you've installed your headers? Could just be a bad tank of gas. Should also try calculating your actual mileage to compare your mpg instead of how many miles you drive. The weather could also make a difference in your gas mileage.

When I had just the headers on I was on the throttle like a Mad Man, which is why I was only getting the high teens. I would suggest following the advise of the previous post and ease of the throttle. Makes a HUGE difference. Trust me, my wallet can vouch for that.

on easing off the throttle. It's the reason you're not getting the MPG you were before. I'm getting about 3-4 MPG better now with my I/H then when I first put them on because the thrill of hearing the intake growl and header whisp has faded... well, slightly... actually, it hasn't at all, but I just don't like filling up as much now.

I saw about a 3-4 mpg difference when I was modded.

I got about 450 miles on a tank when I was fully modded. Headers, intake, spacers, cooling mods and exhaust. It was all highway and at about 80 mph.

There's nothing better than seeing that magical 400+ miles appear on the odometer after a highway drive at 75-85 MPH.

EDIT: Oh wait, yes there is, getting 14 MPG while WOT blowing away a ricer.

I don't have a lead foot everyone. I drive very regular within 10-20 mph of posted limits. BUT I do get on it when accelerating up an on ramp, or when needing to manuver or just plain want to bone out. Otherwise, I try to conserve gas and see how much MPT I can get. Sure, when I first got the headers I floored the throttle more than usual, however my post is after 3 tanks of gas and the MPT being significantly lower while trying to conserve. I am trying to see what the MGT would be with just these headers, compared to stock and therefore see how much MPT I lost.
FYI, I had my secondary O2 sensor was replaced. Prior to replacement, just after installing the headers, with the check engine light on, I got some very crappy MPG/MPT. Service writer said this would be very possible due to sensor out of order. Got new sensor, and reset CEL, and SEEMS as thought the MPG/MPT is the same as when the sensor was faulty. Thanks all again and all feedback is welcome.

Yeah, for city driving that's about it... 240-280 miles... I can get about 310 till the light goes on with mixed driving, which is like 22-23 mpg... and better (up to 30mpg) if it's all highway. Oh, I'm stock and use 93 octane.

Haven't seen one yet, but you could always fill up with 3-4 gallons of 100 octane race gas that you can buy for around $6 a gallon and you'll get your overall tank of gas at 93 octane if you use 91 for the other 12 gallons.

How much is 93 at the pump?

93 octane is the norm for most premium fuel here in MN (92 at many stations) and I filled up with it for just $2.40 a gallon last week.

Isn't the 6spd rated at 29 hwy?

On long distance trips I can easily get 32 mpg and have 450mi / 14 gallons.

I don't know if that's an underestimation on the car's actual mileage compared to what the manufacturer states. but theoretically, upgraind headers/intake IS suppose to improve mileage as long as you drive your car easy. The problem is, the extra poewr makes people drive harder so they ALWAYS assume that it's bad. When it's the complete opposite.

Isn't the actual MPG a little lower than what we're calculating at cause of the odometer issue? I usually get around 23 mpg, mostly highway, according to my odometer. I just have an icebox right now, and I do tend to step on it a lot, mostly getting on to the highway.

Also, I think the octane rating in Cali is capped at 91. I forgot where I heard that. (been filling up at around $3.40/gal up here )

I'm kindof unhappy with my gas mileage too

commuting to work in the summer mixed with some spirited driving = 270-290 mpt
commuting to school ("city" driving with occasional spirited driving) = 230-250 mpt

hopefully when i get my headers and pulley i'll see an improvement
i've only seen my car break the 300+mpt mark twice...

6 speed here...all i have is a drop in K&N and removed diffuser, which is spossed to improve MPG. I get anywhere from 280-320 tank on 93 octane depending on city/highway and how i drive. I usually try to make it to 300 miles a tank...sometimes i even wait till the car bucks under Empty b/c i feel like i should at least see that 300, ya know! this is my first honda V6...I've driven swapped cars until this point, so i'm having some fun while i drive, too. I could prolly see 350 if i learn to drive like my grandmother. Gas is like 2.70-2.80 for 93 octane here in MD

even at that the sc runs off of the engine and drags on it. so it is hard to believe he is getting that good of gas mileage.

When I put my headers on I noticed and increase in mpg after the initial WOT-happy break in period. Got about 300-320 mpt prior to install, and then 340-360mpt after the install. Same mileage consistently over a period of a year. Other mods were just the CT Icebox. CA, 91 octane, NGK iridiums. Drive was around 20% city, 80% highway.
