I too have a question about sport shift
Have any of you guys forgot that you were in SS mode and accidently bounce the RPMs off the redline? It sounds like when you're playing a video game (i.e. Gran Turismo) and you've got the gas pinned down while in neutral. Well, I have accidently done it twice and I hope I haven't messed anything up. Did I?

Yeah, I've done it passing a slow poke in the fast lane. I totally forgot that I was in SS mode and as soon as I was right beside him, thinking I was gonna blow by, I hear VR, VR, VR, VR... ah s**t, how embarassing.

i did that only twice. once during break-in (that may be bad) and once last month. weird thing is is that while in SS i noticed i was climbing towards 7000rpm so i tap it, but it doesn't go. i hit the limiter and the car jerks, tap it up again and nothing. car stays in 2nd @ 72mph. i could only get it out by going into d5. weird. never happened again though. btw, is it bad to purposefully activate the abs? with all the snow still on the ground when pulling to a stop sign or yield i once in a while press harder then normal on the brakes to have the abs turn on. i do it w/ reasonable judgement so dont think i'm like doing it on the highway or at an intersection. just on side streets. i like to see how fast it'll take my car to actually stop.

Your weird , well anywyas I don't think that's bad when your doing it in the situation that you're doing it in. Now if on the other hand it was completely dry and you were doing it, it may not be so hot on the tires (call me a dumbass, but if you do it enough times, and I do me enough, wouldn't you get flat spots in the tire compound??)

I just came home from dinner. Put the shifter into SS mode. Going up a small incline (hill) @ 5th gear. All of a sudden, it changed to 2nd gear and stayed until I upshifted AFTER I was on flat ground again.
This *grade logic* shifting is great. I guess it's a manual transmission with a smart automatic watchin' over you at all time. I like that actually.
Also, it won't let you shift up or down a gear if you are either on a steep hill or going way to fast (80mph shift down to 2nd gear is impossible?)

I don't usually have the problem with SS mode, but since I use D4 and D5 regularly, I sometimes forget that I'm back in D5 and hit the gas while mistakingly tapping the shifter up into Neutral (thinking I was in D4 shifting to D5). Ooops.
