I think my cl is finally gone...
I have a 2001 cl type s. About 177,000 miles on it. I started noticing that there's something wrong with my cars this week when it seems like my transmission is slipping. But finally on friday, while I was getting ready to enter the freeway, all of a sudden my car starts to jerk. Its as if i was stepping in the brake but i wasn't. So i decided to get out of the freeway and take the side street. But when I started driving, my car would constantly jerk and all of a sudden, the check engine light, srs and the ! went on! Damn. So I just decided to park the car and had to call a tow truck. So I really think that my transmission is finally out. So my car is now at car shop waiting for a diagnostic till Monday. so, what do you guys think, whats the damage of the cost am I looking at here????? Thanks and sorry for the long story.
look for 07 Oddysey or 07 TL tranny if you want to keep the car

It is for sure the tranny. That is exactly what happened when mine went out. If yours is original, kuddos to you as that is a lot of miles for one of these crappy slushboxes. You can swap out for a used one for under a grand, rebuild the one you have for around $1700, or get a factory rebuilt for $2700 plus installation - this usually comes to $4000+. BTW, chances are you broke a few motor mounts as well so include a couple hundred there as well.

Yeah. Just got the diagnosis. Its the transmission. The shop price quoted me #3500 for a rebuild engine with 1 year/ 12,000 miles whichever comes first. But the issue is that, this car is not even worth $5000. I've gone on ebay to look for a transmission it costs around $500-$1500 for a used transmission. I dont really feel comfartable about getting another cl transmission. So where can I find an odyssey trans? Would that last longer? Thanks fellas!
The last time I had my tranny replaced I asked the mechanic about the Odyssey transmission. He indicated that he has replaced tons of CL, TL, and Accord trannys but he has never had to replace an Odyssey tranny. I doubt any tranny is bullet proof, but this suggests it is more robust than what we currently have.
02-06 Odyssey I believe and 04-06 TL. They all require a few holes to be drilled and tapped. Dont let that put you off though, the bungs are there to begin with as they are physically similar to the CL tranny.
