On Saturday morning I was on I95 South near the BWI Airport in Maryland. It was early so I was cruising at about 85. I see in my rearveiw mirror a Silver CLS coming up directly behind me really fast. I knew he was racing 'cause there was a red BMW 525 in the lane next to him(well........not quite). I got out the way and they both passed me as if I wasn't even moving. I was happy to see that the CLS had the Bimmer by about a car length.

I love my CLS(and I don't even race)!

I always thought the 525 had a small engine hence the 25...

 

just a carlength? At that speed I would have expected the CLS to have walked away. Maybe the CLS started from behind. A 5.28 should get owned let alone a 5.25.

 

let's see, a 3500lb. car with 184hp vs. a 3500lb. car with 260hp. Who would win?

A 325 would even spank the 525, no contest there at all. The 525 is probably the slowest car bmw makes.

 

Yeah. stock for stock we should walk them pretty bad. Now maybe the 525 was heavily modded???

 

even modded it would need an extra 76hp

Yeah, 525 should not have even been anywhere near the CLS. I spanked my buddies 528 (albeit from a stop) and he had a chip (maybe a few extra horses) while I was stock. It wasn't even close from a standstill. Highway maybe a little closer. The again the 525 might have been lightly modded.
