Im wondering if the person i raced last night with a modded CL-s belongs to cl.com but anyways if you do we were comin down 441 at like 12:30am... I mean this kids car had exhaust and some scream under the hood way louder than mine.. but the thing i noticed is that he only blew me away in the long run like around 95-100 is when he would slowly start to pull away.. im bone stock so i dont know but if the person with that 01 silver S is on here reply back i wanna know what youve done to your car and where you got your stuff from man..... it wasnt my silver cl s...but the race between us still could have gone down just like that....but the reason you would have hung in only until the top is...i would be going so fast that my car acctually drags your causing you to be much faster than you are normally then at the to im not pulling hard enough to drag you with me anymore and finally am able to pull away on my own

Can't really get into it here... Considering this is logged chat and logged IP's... Anyway, needless to say, I have a filed a lawsuit with FoMoCo. I only drive my car occasionally now. (keep miles low)

just fyi -- I do kinda feel burned by ford... But it is mainly the dealers that I cant stand. I still 'kinda' stand behind ford products... but let's just say I have DEFINATELY been shopping the market for something that DOESNT carry a blue oval... =)

 

Oh yeah... I really like my gf's CL... It is a kickass everyday car. And the new TL (and other Acura models as well) look seriously cool. I dont think I could take the power hit though... I got kind of addicted to it...

No shock on wanting to keep the power up in your next car. Its gonna be hard to find something as quick in the same price range. What kinda replacement cars are you looking at?

 

I have looked at damn near everything. Well at least everything in the 30-40k range...

Rx-8 (handles like a go cart, goes like a... go cart...)
G35 Track (good god.. did you feel those brakes?)
Crossfire (whoops, I dont fit)
Cobra (04, I cant have two bad L-.. apples)
Z06 (Fast, but can I own a chevy?)
96-97 Viper GTS (havent driven one, I thnk insurance would be stupid...)
96-99 Mercedes SL500 (Class.. it's unbelievable)

 

Oh yeah, I even drove a couple Lightnings, they just werent my thing...

There are others I am sure. I am really STILL undecided right now. I know that I can get a smoking deal on the Cobra. But after driving and being in the g35... oh man, my Cobra feels (on the inside) like a Jeep Wrangler... it sucks.

I can also get z06's at a discount (invoice actually). But a chevy would kill me.

Give me a suggestion... at this point I am very open. Oh yeah, I have driven all of those cars except for the Viper and the SL... I will NOT buy a car until I have driven it. I also wont buy a car without surveying the service department several times (at random).

After dealing with my shitty service dept's I will never not know what I am getting myself into again. I plan on talking to customers and checking the overall reception at the dept... Anyway... sorry for the rant.

Get a Z06 and put your petty Ford pride aside. Nothing will touch it in it's price range. It will make a G35 purchase look absolutely silly.

 

I dont hold allegiance to any company. Chevrolet conducts their RandD by not doing it. The current C5 has been unchanged for a decade, with no changes... The c6 isnt anything new but a new revision on the ls1... and some suspension upgrades. Also, the interior is the same as Chevy trucks... Keep in mind that my Ford is the same way, only I didn't pay 50K for it...

Anyway, I really like the z06... And the power and handling is ridiculous for the price range. However, the z06 is the most expensive car on that list. I can get a g35 track model for 27.. a new cobra for 32... etc..

The interior of the g35 is LIGHT years ahead of the C5 and Cobra.

I wont really know anything about what I do until I get my settlement. That is a large part of the answer and solution.

You'd still consider the Lightning and SL even though they’re autos? Is AT/MT a major preference?

 

No, I really need an MT. I drove the lightning, for fun really. I wasnt serious about it.

And yes, I would sacrifice my MT for an SL500. Dark Navy, with Camel interior!! Retractable HT... Oh man, that car is so cool. It's cool, it's heavy, it isn't fast. I probably wont get in any trouble with it. As far as I am concerned the Cobra and Z06 are front runners (basically a replacement for what I have)

The others are things that I have thought of that I like. I really need to get some real seat time in a 97 or so sl500 to see if I really do like it. The Auto might be too much for me to deal with. All of my cars have manuals... except for the 73 Stang. She's an auto.
