I only have a few hours before deciding on tint--help please.
Anyone have advice on the metallic tint?
The shop that is going to do my tint today highly discourages the metallic tint for a few reasons:
1. Apparently it takes about 2 months for all of the water spots to completely disappear and for it to look right b/c it is much more reflective.
2. He said that the rear defrost lines are a major problem for mirror tint and you end up seeing tons of little air pockets on the back glass.
What do you guys think? I really wanted the mirror tint but I don't want to go through this hassle. How do you think mirror on the windows and 35% black on the rear window would look?
Furthermore, when I got my Densos installed yesterday my mechanic recommended against it and had a service ticket for a car that was having the mirror tint removed b/c it was so messed up.
Thoughts please. I only have a few hours before making a decision.

I say you just go with the 35% smoke tint all around. It looks really nice, and you won't have to worry about these stupid problems that you will have with the mirror tint.

I had a mettallic tint installed on my CL-S but only because the installer felt comfortable doing it. From what I understand, it is of higher quality and garanteed for life. Mine was done a week ago today and it looks awesome.
The bubbles are still drying but you can only see them if you are right up next to the glass. It is a 20% Metallic tint.
If you do decide on the metallic, make sure the tinter is comfortable doing it. I had the local Acura dealership recommend a tinter and I made sure he knew what he was doing.
The car looks excellent!

The JURY is still out on this one.
I hear that metallic is BAD news for Radar/Laser detectors & NAV systems, but some here swear they have no problems.
I would take the cautious approach and go with non-metallic.

Shawn,
I'm not sure why it would be a problem but I don't have nav or a detector.
The tint does look good, as long as someone knows how to tint correctly.
BTW: I paid $190 for the rear 3 windows @ 20%
