i never thought it would happen

Well, for owning the cl-s for almost 4 years now i never thought i would see my car on a flat bed. Thursday afternoon i was on my way to work driving normal....

anyways the car just stalled at the light. when i restarted it, it was misfiring and running like crap like it wanted to stall again. it was making a clicking noise, from the valves.i didn't give it any throttle. i knew something was wrong and didn't want to cause anymore damage. i had to get off the road and i was a few hundred feet from work. i made it to the parking lot and push it the rest of the way. i added oil but nothing changed

i towed it that night, the shop called me the next morning and told me my oil pump went bad. this is the first longest interval i went berfore changing my oil. my last change was royal purple and going synthetic for the first time. there gonna change my water pump and timing belt as well. do far i'm looking at $980 for parts and labor. I hope i didnt cause anymore engine damage.

That sucks bro.

How many miles did you run on that Royal Purple?

Is Royal Purple that good?

I hear about it but haven't ever used it.

Oil interval change had nothing to do with it. You can go 30K miles on synthetic if needed.
You sure the timing belt didn't snap?

How many miles on the oil change? When you checked the oil was it low or completely out?

8 to 9k since my last oil change. i would add a quart in between. When i checked it, it was at the first mark and it was still a little golden. My first thought was the timing belt. I have 105k right now. There was no signs of slippage or anything. it was pulling nice and hard before i got off the interstate.
