I need your help plz, about these pulleys

http://cgi.ebay.ca/OBX-Overdrive-Pow...item5638dd053d

These are the pulleys I am interested in. I have the Option underdrive pulley. these one say they are overdrive??? wtf

Can someone please clearify this for me.

Cause it sounds like they are smaller than stock? (which would overdrive the alt and the power steering.) or do they mean overdrive as is STOCK size.?

I wanna buy these so please chime in fellas! thank you

they prolly meant underdrive. i need to find a pulley for the power steering pump, as i can not run a pulley on my crank or alternator as I am s/c and using a light weight flywheel

actually I just logged onto the OBX web site and read what they said. Sounds like it is STOCK size and just lighter weight.

I am buying it today :-) RED ones... gonna make the engine look hot

they are most likely just light weight...that's all. Let's rotational mass. UR states that they are something like 1hp ea. for the light weight accessory pullies.

yea I am getting them for looks more than anything.

I am also going to take off the manifold this spring, paint it black, re-polish/sand the plenums, do her up nice, and finish off the engine bay! Red pulleys would be real nice, with the red tb spacer I got. It will be a bitch to put on, but it will still be worth it.

Is there a manifold removal DIY. I could do that when I do the removal to paint it.

The manifold isn't hard, just torque it down evenly and in order, and remember to reconnect all the vaccum lines of course. The metal stock gasket can be reused.

There are DIY's, search for "cleaning the EGR port"... and I'll be happy to get anything you need out of helms if you feel safer that way.

naw i've done the manifold for the plenums when i installed them and then another time for the p2r thermo gasket. I was just saying (for other people) since many are hesitant to take off the manifold.

pulleys are very easy to install with a impact though ,
p/s pump does not even have to be removed, just move the cruise control actuator out of the way (three 10mm bolts, and some wiring connectors) for your access

then the alternator, it does not even have to be disconnected, just loosen it from it's mounting, then rotate so you can get at it with an extension on the impact, then reinstall

Simple bolt ons do not hurt reliability. just don't screw up something when installing. And how much u beat ur car plays a big roll in the long run.

CAI, does not filter as good as stock, but it will be over a period of time though and not a "sudden" break down

also the Moog end links gotta be greased periodically, but should last longer with proper greasing

I know we're like the honda family over here. My brother and I both got cl's and mama bear has a 2000 honda odysey with 165k miles on it, original tranny! Sadly it's starting to go though..

did a customer's one at 160k also, and nothing against you but that one had horrible maintence on it till like 120k (lets just say we had to rebuild the motor at that time, from the oil change sticker being 20k overdue; also the maintence light has actually burnt out for another idea), when it got flushed, so yeah the 4-speed (mom's) should last longer with proper care (let alone that van just gets beat from a shitty driver and such)
the driver is much better now with maintence, due to that 6k bill for a engine
so try changing the fluid, filters and so on, to see if you can bring some life back to it,

Wow you're saying that the tranny could have gone longer? I thought 165k for an auto was good lol. On top of that I could have sworn the van's were plagued with the same transmission issues as our cl's?

easy, with really good maintenance (be awesome for a domestic tranny though)

same tranny issues as ours (remember ours are 5-speed automatics not the 4-speed), not really, but the 4-speeds are still on the weak side though

BTW brother's wife has a 95 accord with the original tranny still at like 200k (just a guess though, speedo/odometer stopped many miles ago [with like 120k][like 4-5 years ago])

when you get these, please let us know about the fitment. I was going to pick these up a few weeks ago and i noticed the whole "overdrive" wording and i asked the seller about it. He basically told me i would need new belts because the stock ones wont fit. If this isnt the case, let me know. I bought the stock size UR crank pulley and wanted to pick up the accessory pulleys as well, but UR charges a ridiculous amount for them. Thanks

if you read the writing on the OBX web site it basically says lightweight and nothing else, so when they say overdrive (they mean) it's not underdrive. I THINK lol

I cannot see why they would make smaller pulleys which are over-driving the system, BUT if they do in fact make the accessories spin more then I won't be mad either since my alt could use a lil more power at idle.

But honestly I'm pretty sure they are just stock sized and thats why it's labeled as overdrive

if you go on the obx web site there is ONLY "overdrive set" for our car.

Why they would spin everything more is beyond me. lol

Id get in touch with obx and ask them, i doubt this seller knows that much. He said it adds 10-15hp. If you look closely on the box the last line on the label says that it adds 10-15 hp so looks like he just copied that from the box.

10-15 hp lol i know they say that ... that's for the PULLEY underdrive SET.. including crank pulley (which is 80% of the power or more).

I am getting these for LOOKS more than anything...

if the do in fact OVERDRIVE the power steering and alternator I will not be displeased in the least.

with the under-drive pulley i noticed the car isn't getting 100% charge at idle. when u got the a/c, and lights on at idle, u can see the light ever so slightly dim. so w/e either way i'll be happy

I was going to get these more for looks too. I mean there is obviously a benefit to them being light weight, but not 10-15 hp worth lol. I'm just more concerned about the belts. I wanted to keep everything stock size, just light weight. In any case, I'd really like to know the belt fitment from someone who is actually installing them and will give an honest answer. I'll try and get a hold of OBX and see what they say too. Thanks

it says "overdrive" pulleys so i dunno what the sizes they are for sure.. but i am up for the challenge.

either way they are lightweight and gonna give me the same or more power to the alt...

and EITHER way.. they look sexy so i'll let you all know how it turns out... i'll snap some picture for you peeps too

but yeah the p/s belt that had come with the UR crank pully really needs to be a little shorter, so i really need to look for a new one
it is basically maxed out on the tensioner for it (maybe one or two threads if that, left on the tensioner bolt)
