I need help!

My auto dimming mirror is leaking! The stuff that is leaking is acidic and it dropped onto my shift panel and melted the paint so I also need to know how to remove the shift knob to get it off. I dont know how to without breaking it.

The shift knob just twists off, righty tighty, lefty loosy. It's on there tight, but you won't break it.

I heard they used to, but not anymore. It's deffinately worth a shot though. Probably the best bet would be finding a good one on ebay and replacing it yourself.

At first you could actually see the liquid inside the mirror. I live in Indiana and a month ago we had below 0 temperatures thats when the mirror started acting up and since its getting warmer it just started leaking.

It will probably have the scuffed up type s wheels cause I'm trying to sell my rims. They were too getto for me, I plan on getting some 18'' mesh spoke wheels in the summer. Sorry to begin my my membership with a problem but thanks for the responses.

Get the mirror out of the car before it does any more damage as well. Magna Donnely (sp?) has still been replacing them for us TL guys. Some have had health related symptoms from the leaking

Sore throat, Migraines, Intestinal problems. A few TL members have noticed those symptoms after the leaking.

Seriously, do a search on the topic. Some have exploded. The search button is on the top left of the page right under the DCH logo. Use it.
