I lost my Keyless entry remote

I was picking up the leaves yesterday and I lost the Keyless remote for my CL. I still have my second one but I was wondering if I can get one off ebay, But how do u program it to the correct code. Or am I stuck going to dealer?
Anyone know how much they cost.

Thanks
Esti

Call the dealer, they will guide you through the process.

Get it through ebay, you can get one for like 10-20 bucks... My friend got one for his 2000 Maxima for $10 in almost brand new condition, and it works.... dealer wanted like $100....

Our remotes used to be like 30-40 dollars but for some reason they jumped to 80-90 dollars a few months ago.
I had a spare that I had purchased for my 2001 CL and sold it for like 30 dollars right before the price went up. Too bad for me.

Once you get a new remote to replace yours, clear all the codes so the old one can’t be used if found and program the new one with the following instructions.

on the TL forum, they concluded that the 2003 accord key/remote will work on our cars. You can buy them uncut and have the dealer cut it, then you can program it as it uses the same technology as the remotes our cars came with.

I have 2 Acura CL Type S transmitters, brand new.

I'm in Canada. My friend damaged my Palm so he said that in exchange, I could have 2 transmitters, UNUSED!

I can sell them to you for $25US (or negotiable) and about $1 or less for postage.

Plz PM me if you are interested. I just have to find them in my desk drawer and make sure that they are untouched .

Since you lost yours due to an unfortunate incident, I will happily take a reasonable offer from you.

Thing is, we gotta discuss how you will get the transmitters and how I can get paid without you worrying .

According to ebay, the reasonable price is around $15 USD....

looks like i was wrong about the 2k3 accord keys working on ours. They use the inverted cut.

Awesome! Glad to hear!!! at least now you know that nobody else has your keys, and that you don't have to reprogram any transmitters or transponder keys!

Great stuff!!!

ShawnS, i remember some saying that your keyless remote has to have the same numbers on the back, or something like it. U know, the FCC # or the other #

You are correct. The FCC # is also the FCC ID, which is a licensed frequency for that particular brand/model of car.[ The Grantee (FCC ID) Code is assigned by the Commission permanently to a company for authorization of all radio frequency equipment subject to Certification, Type Acceptance and Notification.]

If you buy a replacement transmitter that looks different, but has the same FCC ID (FCC #), chances are (99%) that they transmitter will be programmable to your car.

The FCC id# has nothing to do with a licensed frequency, go to http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

fair enough... If it has nothing to with frequency/technology type, then why don't you kindly explain what it is for?

Most people would understand by reading the link @ the FCC page you posted, as a license to utilize certain frequency/frequencies as well as specific technology and to indicate that these device don't cause interference (i.e. conform to FCC standards) to other devices.

This means: This device (the licensed device) 1. must NOT cause interefere. 2. This device must accept any interference, even that which may cause undesired operation.

So in the end, basically it relates to a specific frequency/frequency range! Unless of course one doesn't have a better explanation, I can't disagree with myself lol, nor can I agree but rather accept what I say until it can be proved otherwise. Don't worry, lol, I'm not committing an APPEAL to IGNORANCE fallacy but rather, if you can say this, an APPEAL to INTERPRETATION (AMBIGUITY).

I wasn't intending on causing any FLAMES or expecting any, but rather to give a simple explanation as to how the FCC ID is relevant to the users of the remote transmitters.
